The Shark Encounter was an awesome experience. The other exhibits in the park were very interesting. Very memorable!
We really enjoyed this tour. Elvis, our guide, was excellent. He made us laugh and was really knowledge about the island and its history. We highly recommend this tour.
Lots of fun. Only complaint is the speaker system was too loud in the van, and we had to plug our ears through some of the singing. Also, some of the words of the songs were adult-rated and offensive. There was a child on board.
The tour was suppose to leave at 9:00. This would give us 2.5 to three hours in town shopping. Instead because the tour was late showing up and could not locate part of the group, we did not leave until almost 10:00 and only had 45 min to an hour in town. We returned to the ship earlier then expected. 1:00 instead of 2:30. Compared to our guide on st maartin, this tour guide offered very little information about the island.
Maybe a 2.5 star rating.
Our was awesome!! Our tour guide was the best; besides giving us an insight on St. Thomas, he had music on, made us sing and laugh the whole time! We were first dropped off for an hour to shop in all these pretty little stores which are quite close to each other. After that, we stopped in some places to have a glance at an amazing view of St. Thomas. Last but not least, we were taken to the beautiful Sapphire beach and had two hours to spend there.I highly recommend this tour (and the Banana Daiquiri, and the Rum Punch in Sapphire Beach )
Good interesting tour with Elvis.
excellent experience. i've dived with sharks before in a cage (hawaii). here the sharks are small and actually were more afraid of us then us from them. i didn't feel scared at all and entered the water tank easily. lots of sharks moved around us and even one too friendly stinga ray. the photos are amazing ! best excursion i've done on this trip.
great trip and great team- travis was wonderful. we really enjoyed all parts pf the trip- the kayaking, the hiking, and the snorkeling. we could have had one huge problem if we would have taken the late itinerary- like we planned on the beggining.there's no way we could have been on the ship on time. so it's a huge mistake taking the afternoon excursion (we would have finished by 16:10- not enough time to be on board at 16:30 -the last time to return the ship). besides that- great great experience !
This tour began at the pier with 8 people. When we returned to the bus after spending 1 hour in town shopping, the tour guide had rounded up 8 more people filling up the open air bus. My husband and I were the first ones on the bus and had chosen a seat in the back ( the same seats we had started the tour with) so we could feel a breeze and I could easily take pictures. After the new people appeared we were asked to go to the front of the bus so the others could sit together in the back. I expressed that we did not want to sit in the front, but he told us that the others wanted to sit together so we needed to move. After moving to the front we were directly behind the cab of the bus so we got very little breeze coming in and it was extremely hot. Two papers were posted on the back of the window so my husband could not see anything in front of him. There were bars on the open window beside me (these were only on this row of seats) so I was unable to take pictures as I had planned. When we arrived at the beach, we were only given 30 minutes. We did not mind this, but several of the others were looking forward to the hour and a half at the beach.
A great day out with experianced guide
This was an excellent excursion in a newer open-air Ford pickup truck that is converted to hold about 18 passengers (these are the most common form of transportation of tourist on the island-- you see them everywhere). We got to learn the history and see the sights of pretty much the entire island of St. Thomas. Our driver Elvis was very knowledgably and made the trip fun by adding music and singing songs. We took several short stops of 5-10 minutes each, a stop of 45 minutes at Mountain Top, and a two hour stop at Sapphire Beach, which was less crowed, more scenic, more coral, and no extra admission cost than the more famous Magens Beach (Elvis let us do a bus vote on which beach to visit-- Sapphire won unanimously). The excursion lasted a bit over six hours total. Since we had about 9 hours in this port, this tour and beach experience made for a perfect day in St. Thomas!
Elvis is great! He knows well about the island, history and the beautiful places we need to see. I highly recommend him to everybody. Your experience in St Thomas will be perfect with him. Thanks Elvis! You were great indeed.
I would highly recommend Viator. We used Viator for two excursions and Carnival for one. We enjoyed the excursions with Viator much more than the Carnival excursion in St. Marteen. I liked the option of choosing the amount of time for shopping on this excursion. Magens Bay was beautiful. It is worth the $4 admission fee.
Our driver was helpful and informative
This was lots of fun. We shopped for 2 hours, which went very fast. Then we did a bit of sightseeing as we drove to Mountaintop, which had beautiful views. Had a yummy banana daiquiri at the wonderful gift shop (wish we had more time there) and then went to BEAUTIFUL Meagan's beach. Great day. LOVED Elvis our guide.
