Day 1: Welcome to Stockholm

Best to situate yourself alongside the modern city center on the main island, or in the middle of Gamla San,  the tiny island housing the historic Old Town. The oldest part of Stockholm is also its most beautiful, containing cobblestone streets, pretty old houses, vaulted cellar restaurants and the impressive Royal Palace.
