Effcient and entertaining tour. The Blue Mountains are well worth visiting and without a car this made for a very convenient way of experiencing a day out of Sydney.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and accommodating. We definitely had a lot of fun and learned a lot about the Blue Mountains.
We actually ended up taking the coach tour as the operator was unable to run this trip. We had a super day and would totally recommend this trip to take you out of Sydney and experience some memorable views of the Blue Mountains and Three Sisters. Scenic World was fantastic too. Whilst you'd imagine the gondola and sky ride as being the "only way the travel" the train down into the valley was an experience in itself - this isn't to be missed. Featherdale is a fab place to stop, you get up close and personal to lots of Australian's furry locals. Our driver was also very informative and lovely guy. Do this trip!!! Enjoy!
The trip was terribly touristy and I hated the element of stopping at the Aboriginal Culture Center. I really enjoyed hiking through the Blue Mountains National Park, though it was hard to find the trails from where they dropped us off. The Wildlife Center was fantastic. The cruise at the end was very full, so we just took the bus back. I would recommend the tour because of the ease of getting to places we wanted to see. I am glad it didn't cost as much as the other Blue Mountain Day Tours, as I probably couldn't highly recommend going on any of them because it was such a zoo of tourists...
day didn't start well when pick up coach was 20mins late but only a few minutes late leaving on main tour.
Our driver was also our guide and he gave us a brilliant commentry whilst driving to our destination.
We were delayed leaving Scenic World at the Blue Mountains due to other people being late back (people being late was the reason for the earlier delay too)but we arrived at Jenolan Caves in time for a quick lunch before our very good guided tour.
The day went far too quickly and was good value for money and well organised.
Definately recommend
Excellent tour of the city with very knowledgeable and informed driver. The lunch cruise was very good, food was pretty good. Blue mountains tour was excellent as well, again driver was very informative, lots to do and see at the location in the mountains. Liked being able to split the two day trips to fit our schedule. Very satisfied.
I'm sure much of our enjoyment was due to our driver, Paul. He is a local and had lots of interesting information he shared with us. The early arrival to Featherdale was great. The animals were ready for guests and it was not crowded. I also like that the tour allowed us to take the three types of transportation available at the Blue Mountains. That was fun. I do wish the lunch had been a bit more creative. The food was somewhat bland, particularly for the price.
Our guide/driver was fantastic - full of information and a very good driver on those narrow, cliff roads.
The 90-minute cave tour was visually appealing, entertaining, and informative. Four of the 7 people on our coach opted for the Adventure Cave Tour and they all reported that they loved it.
We visited on a drizzly/foggy/cloudy morning, and the views of the Blue Mountains and The Three Sisters from Scenic World were obstructed for the most part. Therefore, we were advised against spending money on riding the Scenic Cableway, so I missed out on that experience. However, upon returning to the area following the cave tour, our driver was kind enough to stop at Echo Point so we could view the area in clear weather, and the views were stunning. The visit to the Blue Mountains on this tour is only a scenic view stop, not spending any time getting familiar with the area, but it is worth the 2-hr ride from Sydney if you have clear weather to see the spectacular views.
This tour spends most of the day on the coach. Hotel pickup at 7:15, to the central meeting point. Departure at 8:15. Arrival at Scenic Village 2 hours later for a 1 hour stop (incl. snacks/rest). Departed Scenic World at 11:15, arrived at Jenolan Caves 90 minutes later at 12:45. Lunch break. Cave tour was from 2:00-3:30 (1:15-3:15 for Adventure Tour), then a short rest break, departing at 4:00 and a brief stop back in Katoomba at 5:30. Departed Katoomba at 6:00 and back in Sydney at about 8:00pm.
I would recommend (time permitting) hiking in Blue Mountains on one day, and cave tours on a separate day.
What an exciting day! I love every bit of the tour in Blue Mountains and Featherdale Wildlife Park. Excellent!
Unfortunately the Blue mountains views were spoiled by the mist so we visited the aborigine culture show. We felt that this show was too rushed. The included lunch was good and the Wild life centre was very good. Long journey times getting in and out of Sydney.
We just came back from this tour and we loved it! The tour guide was very amusing with his commentary and I found it nice to learn things about the city's (Sydney) history that I typically don't get from other guides.
The Blue Mountains were beautiful, they do their best to get you to do the most in the short time you have (about an hour). If you're not a fan of hiking/nature-walking an hour is enough. If you are, I'd advise you skip this tour and take just the "Blue Mountains" tour or take the train to Katoomba railway station to spend some more time there.
Most of the trip is spent at Jenolan Caves, which are astoundingly beautiful. The tour of the caves lasts a good hour and a half, and they really give you a great history lesson while you're climbing those 900-something stairs.
One word of warning: those who are claustrophobic or find it difficult to breath in 'cave' conditions, I'd advise you NOT to go. There was a lady who turned back a few minutes into the tour because she was having trouble.
In the pond nearby the cave (the blue one) you may be lucky enough to see a platypus but there almost was not enough time to take a look around the area between lunch and the tour.
We are exhausted and happy by the end, and our tour guide treated us to a look-see at some wild kangaroos!
It was really god, but the time spent in the park at the blue mountains wasn't enought and we had to run a lot to do everything... some people didn't get to do and see everything, ubt they got part of the money back.
We both enjoyed our trip to the Blue Mountains. The views were quite spectacular - especially from the skyrail. Only one of the skyrails were in operation due to maintenance work being carried out but that was just unfortunate really. The ride on the fenicular railway was as near to a fairground ride as you could get. We both enjoyed the ride. The member of staff who answered our queries regarding the forest was helpful and informative. It was sad but a useful experience to see at first hand the effects of the forest fires which we only witness through television and newspapers. The fire was believed to have been started deliberately. The visit to the wildlife zoo was entertaining. It was interesting seeing the wildlife together which we would only normally see, individually, in zoos at home. It was a great collection of Austalian animals, birds and reptiles etc. The trip round the various sports stadia and arenas of Sydney seemed to be filling time and consequently, was a waste of it. We felt the time would have been better spent in the Blue Mountains as we didn't get to see all the forest area having to rush back to the coach.
This was a great value. The blue mountains were just breathtaking!! The food on the lunch tour was adequate - I got some good photos. The Sydney tour was wonderful - got to go to the beach!!
