3 Days in Sydney: Suggested Itineraries
Must-Do Experience, Tip - Suggested Itineraries, Tip - What to See & Do
Sydney, the Harbour City - sunny, welcoming, familiar - and why wouldn't it be with all those famous icons? The Opera House , that sparkling harbor , breathtaking views, cutting-edge dining, and vibrant nightlife - there's no shortage of things to do. Still, there’s no reason to be daunted by it all. If you’re a newcomer to the city and wondering what to see, consider taking a tour of the town. Be it a foot or bicycle tour, or one of the many Harbour Ferry tours, a good overview of the city will help you get your bearings. Or see the city from above! Nab a bird's-eye view from the Sydney Skywalk, or plan it out your trip over dinner and drinks, while absorbing the stunning 360 degree view. Still confused? Don’t be. If you’ve got three days, we’ve got you covered.
Day 1: The Heart of the City
To help plan your vacation itinerary and to get your bearings in this great city, jump on a hop-on hop-off bus tour of Sydney. Open air, double-decker busses circulate at regular intervals throughout the city, giving you commentary on this largest and most culturally diverse city in Australia and Oceania. Take some time off the bus and absorb some Aussie culture, while strolling through the historic Rocks precinct with its quirky shops and colonial ambiance. Then, for a behind-the-scenes view of Sydney's culture, take a backstage tour of the famous Sydney Opera House. Stay on as dusk falls and combine dinner at one of Sydney's premier restaurants with an Opera House show package - opera, ballet, symphony, the choice is yours.
Day 2: Exploring Sydney
Sydney has so many attractions to explore: Bondi Beach, Taronga Zoo, Darling Harbour Aquarium and much more. So much more, in fact, it might behoove you to look into getting a See Sydney and Beyond Smartvisit Card". If you're in the mood for relaxing, however, try taking a leisurely lunchtime cruise in Sydney Harbour, followed by an afternoon tour of Bondi Beach and Kings Cross. Or get a bird's-eye view of the harbor on a thrilling helicopter tour. In the evening, dine with views at Sydney Tower or the 360 Bar.
Day 3: Excursions
Explore beyond the city limits and you'll discover a different side to Australia. The beautiful Blue Mountains are a must-see while you're visiting Sydney. Consider spending the night out and seeing them in depth with a luxury overnight escape, or share an intimate eco-experience and maybe some breakfast with the koalas. If instead, you’d rather explore some of Australia’s famous wine country, consider an indulgent wine-tasting day trip into Sydney's Wine Country, the Hunter Valley.
