One of the beautiful features of Sydney, besides its laid-back attitude, huge selection of trendy restaurants and bars, and shopping, would have to be its close proximity to the water. Sydney not only lies on Sydney Harbour, but it’s also just a short jaunt (30 minutes by bus) to its nearest surfing beach of Bondi. In that sense, Sydneysiders often find it easy to go from city to surf, from work to play, in almost no time at all.

Beaches are a dime a dozen in Sydney, and Australia in general for that matter, but good surfing beaches should be noted. We’ve compiled a list of the good surfing beaches in the Sydney area so that you can easily know where to go in order to catch a wave while visiting.
