Good Place to Relax, Nature & Wildlife, Romantic, Swim & Snorkel, Island
Just looking at the map you already know Bora Bora must be something special: an island embraced by a lagoon and guarded by motus (islets). This pearl of the Pacific is renowned as one of the most beautiful tropical islands on Earth. Consequently it’s hardly a budget destination – visitors tend to be well-heeled or splashing out on a once-in-a-lifetime experience, such as a honeymoon.
Apart from the Lagoonarium, there are very few conventional “sights” on Bora Bora; the island itself, with its warm, iridescent waters and soft white sands, is the sight. But if you can’t take any more lazing on the beach, you can always go snorkeling, scuba-diving, wind-surfing, jet-skiing or yachting.

Great tour and the two guides were very funny and took safety quite seriously. They had us stand behind a rope while feeding the sharks in the corral gardens. We were later able to swim with them. These guys knew what they were doing. Enjoyed the feeding, the ride around the island and the lagoonarium. The lunch was really good and we ended with a pareo demonstration. Would recommend that they spend less time on the motu after the lagoonarium tour and lunch. To their credit, they could tell we were all bored and we left earlier than scheduled. Would highly recommend.

The only downside was the tour was cut a bit short (it didn't go the full three hours) and I would have liked to have spent even more time in the water! Also, some people on the boat had purchased their tickets much cheaper by just buying them at the dock. But that said, we were glad we were already organised through Viator so we didn't have to stress about finding a decent tour.

For novice snorkelers and children the lagoonarium was excellent. The food and the presentation was very nice. I even learned how to wear my new pareau. (sp? Continue Reading »
Practical Info
Flights land on the northernmost motu (islet), where ferries are waiting to take you to your resort, usually on other motus. The main island itself, dominated by dramatic volcanic peaks, is sparsely populated and only has one ring road.
