You don’t have to be a miniatures collector or doll house enthusiast to enjoy the extensive collection at the Miniatures Museum of Taiwan; the novelty alone of Asia’s first museum dedicated to miniatures housing the second largest collection in the world is reason enough. The owner, Mr. Lin Wen-ren, scoured Europe and the United States for every miniature house, car or bit of furniture he could find, putting together the collection over a period of four years.
Touring the museum gives visitors the opportunity to see inside the walls of some of the world’s most famous buildings. See where the Queen of England sleeps inside Buckingham Palace as a legion of miniature guards march outside, or experience a small town in Japan during springtime, when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. The Miniatures Museum of Taiwan holds the distinction of housing the smallest working television in the world in one of its tiny dioramas.
