  • Address: YongKang St, Da-an District
For foodies, about the only place better to sink your teeth into than a Taipei night market is Yongkang Street. With the Taipei 101 looming in the distance, this stretch of road draws visitors and locals alike with seemingly endless local restaurants, with a few boutiques, bookstores, cafes and antique shops mixed in.

Eating your way along Yongkang Street offers the best survey of Taiwanese cuisine possible, with almost all the most famous dishes represented here, often at their best. Yongkang Beef Noodles, perhaps the most famous restaurant along the road, serves the best bowl of piping hot Taiwanese-style beef noodles in the city. Braised pork rice, wonton soup, soup dumplings, barbecue roasted pork and Taiwanese shaved ice are among the most popular offerings.

Come to Yongkang Street hungry, but give yourself some time to walk up and down the sidewalks first to scope out the places that look most appealing. The Taiwanese know their food, so crowded restaurants with long lines are always a good bet.
