Great tour! We are so glad we booked this tour for our honeymoon! Our tour guide Alan Chou was the main reason why the tour was so great: he was knowledgeable, very accommodating to all of our needs, and had a great sense of humor that my wife and I still laugh about today. We were super lucky to have him as our tour guide because his command of the English language was fantastic he and was very thorough in his explanations. This tour is a great opportunity to see the entire island and isn't strenuous as some other tours as they only take you to the "biggest bang for your buck" spots. Our favorite part of the trip was the hot springs at Sun Moon Lake. So relaxing and absolutely delightful! We highly recommend this tour!!

The only reason this tour is a five star is because there are no higher stars. The tour guide, Alan Chow, was EXCEPTIONAL. The bus was extremely comfortable with an outstanding driver. All the hotels were five star hotels with great amenities. The only suggestion would be that anyone signing up for the tour should be warned that a considerable amount of walking, and climbing of stairs, is required each day of the tour. It seems that none of the tours are at ground level. However the walk was always worth the effort.

Our tour was fist class all the way. Our tour guide was the best that we could imagine. Alan YU Chou is an amazing young man, he was funny, informative and very knoledgeable. Alan took very good care of all of us on the tour. The itinerary was perfect. We learned a lot and saw a lot.

I had an incredible time on the Taroko Gorge Full-Day Tour because the sights that we saw were amazing and beautiful, but, mostly, because our tour guide, Josephine, made the tour so wonderful. She grew up in that area of Taiwan, so there is no tour guide who knows more about Taroko Gorge and the surrounding area than she does. More than that, Josephine is loads of fun and very gregarious and friendly. Best of all, she laughed at all of my corny jokes and had some of her own! She and I became great buddies on the tour since I sat up in front of the van with her! Josephine goes the extra mile to help out the people on the tour. For example, I needed to get stamps for the postcards that I was writing, so she made a special trip to the post office and accompanied me to help me buy the stamps. When the tour was over, and we were leaving on the train to return back to Taipei, she chased me down on the train platform to return my hat to me, which I forgot! She is special and amazing! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone going to Taiwan. The gorge and sights on this tour are not to be missed. Make sure that Josephine is your tour guide, since she'll make sure that you have a great time (don't settle for anyone else or second best)!

I'd love to take several days and hike/camp/bike around and through Taroko Gorge, but failing that, this tour is DEFINITELY the best way to see the really stunning Taroko Gorge in just one day from Taipei. There was a great combination of hiking, busing, history, nature, food (very nice lunch!), and insider views from our guide, who grew up in the region. Amazing value for money when you consider a plane flight and 2.5 hour train ride home (be prepared, get some food before you board!) are included. I would recommend this for anyone. Wish my kids could have joined me!

Wonderful views in this beautiful national park! We enjoyed a great day and the return ride via a local train was also an interesting experience. All tour company representatives (pick-up personnel, drivers, tour guide) were professional and friendly.

Very detailed tour of Taroko Gorge. I was expecting a watered down tour but was pleasantly surprised of such a detailed tour of Taroko Gorge. Many stops with many photo opportunities. Memorable moments include suspension bridge and mountain-side hotel. Two negatives: 1) you must share family-style lunch with other tour members; we were unlucky to sit with 3 other guests who constantly stuck their saliva drooled chopsticks in the shared food. And 2) after such an exhausted day I wish there was an option to fly home instead of a long 3 hour train ride home. Despite these, the tour was amazing. Would definitely recommend!! And if our tour guide did any other tour, we would try those as well.

The trip ran very smoothly according to schedule. Impressed with how efficient the trip was being conducted. Guide was friendly, speaks english in a sing-song kind Of way. I would have preferred her to give a description or background behind each stop, instead of just reciting the name of the stops.

Beautiful scenic experience
This is our first booking via Viator, and we found the website to be user friendly. The pick up was punctual and the coordinating guides were all very helpful and efficient. Taroko Gorge tour was an interesting experience with lots of beautiful scenery, and we were glad to have taken up this package. Would have been better if more time was alloted for some scenic spots like the Shakadang trail, temple near the waterfall, pagoda near restaurant and less time at marble and snacks factories.

I enjoyed my experience at the Taroko Gorge very much. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and very helpful with any questions. We visited several shops during the tour along with the marble museum!
I will definitely recommend this tour to any of my friends who are visiting Taiwan in the future!!!

A most enjoyable tour. Organisation, pick ups and delivery were first class and the standard of accommodation couldn't be faulted. The coach was very comfortable, made more so because it was only about two thirds full so there was plenty of space for everyone. Tony, the guide's English was reasonable but he was a bit hard hear and/or to understand at times at the back of the coach!

A good way to see the highlights of Taiwan in a short time. James (the tour leader) was very good and hotels were excellent. The included lunches are also well above what you'd expect from a tour package. Having said this, the bus used for the tour between Taichung and Hualien was a 21-seat minibus which had obviously been touring for some time, it was not as comfortable as the larger coaches used by some other tour groups (one star off for this). Taroko Gorge in particular was spectacular and I plan to return to spend more time there.

The gorge is beautiful and our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, however I would much prefer to spend more time actually looking at the gorge and way less time stopping in at cafe's and gift shops. I guess if you are making all of the effort to do a day trip to the gorge, you would expect to spend more time being able to look at it and explore. We got stuck in by a rockfall which was exciting and thankfully had the added advantage of cutting our trip to the marble factory short and took the stop in at the last cake shop off the itinerary altogether. The marble factory is an unnecessary "extra" to the trip.
The lunch was amazing!
All in all, I think if I was to go back to the gorge I would hire a car and do it myself, but if you are short on time, this is a good option. Just expect to spend an equal amount of time (or more) looking at shops, cafe's etc as you do looking at the gorge.

Some nice scenery along the way, be prepared, you will be asked for a further NT200 for "fuel money". The 5 star lunch at Silks restaurant lacked a few stars.
We were served lunch in a separate back room, it felt like we were being fed through the back door, like they were ashamed of us. The stop at the marble factory was ok, a chance to spend some money, some nice stuff there.
There is a half hour wait at the beach at the end, I guess it is better than waiting at the train station, then you will have a 2 hour ride on the train back to Taipei, I would rather pay more and fly back. We could have spent more time at some places.
