Step into this capital city and you will immediately notice both the medieval and modern sides to it. The medieval side of Tallinn shouldn’t be of surprise because it is one of the oldest capital cities. There are cobbled streets, many old-style churches, cafes, restaurants and shops for you to enjoy. An exciting nightlife can be found in the hidden streets of the city.
If you explore the Old Town, which is an UNESCO World Heritage Site, you may see some influences from when Tallinn was still under Soviet rule. So don’t be surprised if you stumble across some signs written in Russian, or even locals speaking both Estonian and Russian.
