Doing what: Gordon River Cruise from Strahan
Booked this just days before going to Tasmania. Got up at 4.30am to get down to Strahan by departure time of 8.30. Prompt boarding ,lovely boat with great seating options and views, we were allowed out on the decks which gave us a great view of the absolutely stunning scenery on offer.

Lovely, pristine rain forest walk was fantastic. Stopover on island with convict ruins also interesting. I think the boat's captain, needs to retire, he was grumpy and muttered something about being over the wilderness as he has been doing it 30 years.

A great day touring. Cradle Mountain was fabulous so too the scenery on the way. The coach driver was very familiar with the area and was very obliging and informative. Definitely a must see area!!!!!

Fabulous trip, I would highly recommend this trip the guides were very professional and clearly loved what they were doing. The food was delicious and the whole day was most enjoyable. Don't miss this cruise!

The tour and crew are first class. They give an excellent commentry and they keep the whole day up beat. Going through Hells Gate at the entrance to Macquarie Harbour was eery, thinking about all the ships that had come to grief. The tour guides on Sarah Island gave an excellent production on life and activities on the Island during the convict days. The information on the Fish farms gave us a good insight into the process including the changes to accommodate the market changes. The Gordon River its self was a pristene experience with once again an excellent presentation on all the vegitation in the area. We were delighted with Gordon River Cruises and would highly recommend them to anybody visiting the area.

Fantastic, well worth the extra $$ for the Captains Deck. The Sarah Island and Hells Gates expeditions were real highlights. Prompt, comfortable safe. Great staff and service and a real education about this unique heritage World wilderness area. I would highly recommend it to friends and would definitely go again next time we are in Tassie. loved it.

We had amazing weather for a perfect view of the stunning scenery. The staff were all fantastic and we were lucky enough to get great seats at the front of the centre section. The food was great and the smoked salmon plentiful. We also highly reccommend doing the guided tour of the island!

We had a great day. Our driver was very knowledgeable and you wouldn't want to be doing the driving on the winding road into the park. We had plenty of time to stretch the legs at Dove Lake ( which was quite beautiful). The Cheese Shop was a nice break on the way home.

The cruise was a memorable experience with wonderful views and also the opportunity to explore on land. Food was very pleasant for a buffet lunch, the crew members were friendly and the whole tripwas well organised.

A great trip and a major highlight of our driving holiday in Tasmania. Crew and guides did a great job making it so educational and enjoyable despite some atrocious weather.
