Located in the vibrant beach town of Lagoa, the Slide and Splash Aquatic Park is a fantastic destination for visitors traveling with children. At over 16,000 acres (64 square kilometers), it is one of the largest water parks in western Europe, open since 1986.
The park features a variety of amusements, ranging from kiddie areas to high-speed tube-rides and thundering plunges down steep slides. Its leisure area has accommodations for picnicking as well as concessions. If this is your first stop in the park, just look for the deep-red tables. Be sure to put on sunscreen - this region of Portugal gets plenty of sun, and you don't want your skin to match the color of the leisure area's furniture.
The park is also near some beautiful beaches, and if you have allotted time in your vacation for shoreline rehabilitation, Slide and Splash is a good way to fill one of those days.

Practical Info
Lagoa's beaches are among the best in the country, and as such, they are often crowded. Their resorts are very popular with people from all over the world. If you don't get your fill of water activities at Slide and Splash, rentals at the shore are readily available to fulfill whatever your aquatic penchant is.
