Beautiful day trip to the west Highlands. JAN, our guide, was full of historical details, music and information about the Glencoe/ Lock Ness area. With several stops including less known spots and no crowds, I recommend this day trip to anyone interested in the Scotland countryside!
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone! It was the high light of my trip to Scotland!
Jonathan was a great tour guide....very knowledgeable and witty, and made our trip
very memorable. We would certainly recommend this tour to others.
Our tour guide Dave was a good driver, a good story teller, a DJ, and a passionate Scot. There were 23 people on this tour, most are couples, friends and families, and 5 solo female travelers including me. We got along well. I was constantly awed by the stark beauties of the Scottish Highlands and the lochs. The landscape of the highlands are so different from the lowlands. We visited Loch Ness at Fort Augustus, the southern tip before turning west to the Isle of Skye. We visited Eilean Donan Castle often called the most picturisque castle in Scotland before crossing the bridge to the Isle of Skye. The B and B I stayed in Portree capital of Skye was very clean and comfortable. The landlady made me porridge hot oatmeal upon my request, before a full Scottish breakfast. We experienced typical weather on the island, fog, gusty wind, rain, stop, rain, stop, etc. on the second day. We went to many places on the Isle of Skye and took breathtaking pictures of the sea and rocks and heathers. There were sheeps and cows, more of them than people. More castles. The 3rd day we took the ferry to Malliag, beautiful view but very windy and cold. Took the Jacobite Steam Train from Malliag to Fort William, the Hogwart Express going over the famous viaduct. Taking pictures on the train is not easy, best to drive and take the pictures from below. Overall, I highly recommend this 3-day tour and I love the highlands!
could not be better. great people, great B and B, beautiful country.
What a wonderful trip! We have never done a guided tour like this before. We always have tried to find our own way. After the 3-Day Isle of Skye tour we are converts. What a wonderful way to see the highlands and learn some of the history we would never have learned on our own. Our tour guide was wonderful and I would recommend this tour to a stranger in a heartbeat. It was that good!
The small bus choice is perfect. We observed the lost time the large buses had at each of our stops in getting 40 people back on board. Our 16 person bus had enough trouble as it was! Our guide Dave was very well versed, funny and shared much with the group. Would have given this a 4 star only to get your attention but it really is a 5 star. Don't pass up the straight from the barrel Scotch tasting its worth the extra.
Well worth the price. Our guide Gillian, was knowledgeable and fun. I would take another trip in a heartbeat!
This was a very nice trip to take. The guide was very informative and explained things pretty well. The areas covered was very beautiful and I would recommend this to anyone visiting Scotland.
great trip in spite of rain. Really enjoyed spending time in the village cafe overlooking Loch Nesz.
This tour is not to be missed and our guide, Ally, was a large part of that. He has such a love of Scotland and it showed in the locations he took us to. Even though we didn't find Nessie, it was a great day!
This was a great tour! The fact that it was a small group made it even better. Ally was a fantastic guide/driver! It was clear he loved his job and knew an amazing amount about Scotland. He stopped in places that not a lot of other tour buses stopped, so it felt very personal. The views were breathtaking and you have to appreciate a man in a kilt!
Guide was great. View was enthralling
This tour was amazing! We had Duffy as our tour guide and he really made the tour extra perfect. There were greatly timed bathroom breaks I have a bladder condition and THOROUGHLY appreciate this feature in a tour and each stop provided us with such a variety of experiences. Castles, gardens, Jacobite train, memorials, waterfalls, bays... it was outstanding. We were two of five younger adults on our tour and my partner and I had great fun with the others. This was easily my favorite part of my two month trip through Europe! Everyone must do this. It's worth the time and money and it definitely something you will love and cherish
Very well organised, absolutely fantastic guide, who had great knowledge of Scottish history and played great Scottish music on the bus. The accomodation B and B was very good. A very enjoyable 3 day tour. I would recommend it to anyone.
Absolutely amazing trip. Loved the tour and our tour director was fantastic. Definitely go on this tour!!
This was a wonderful day, sunny skies and plenty of information and history was given to us from Peter,I would recommend this tour
Yes, It was a very good trip. Will remember it for a long, long time. The guide was very good and kept us interested with the history of Scotland during the long drives in between the stops. Recommend this tour for
value for money.
This tour was spectacular. Our guide, Joe, was a true Highlander. He took us to some great places and told some wonderful stories. I would definitely do this tour again. The only thing I could do without was LochNess. It was a bit of a tourist trap but still fun. LOVE LOVE LOVE Skye. Our weather was amazing. I am ready to back.
Really great trip. John from Rabbies tours was the best. He made it all very enjoyable and entertaining.
Heather our guide was super cute, animated, informative and you can really tell she's in love with Scotland, its natural beauty, its history and culture.
Considering its a long tour, Heather broke up the journey with enough stops to make the trip comfortable.
Driving through the highlands was like being on another planet. From the moors to the huge mountain peaks to the quaint villages scattered about and of course the lochs this a great way to see it all.
FIRST OF ALL THERE WERE NO DISCOUNTED VOUCHER GIVEN - THE LOCAL GUIDE TOLD US SINCE LONG AGO THEY DONT GIVE THEM ANYMORE AND WAS VERY SURPRISED WHY THEY ARE STILL MENTIONED IN THE ITINERARY.
SECOND THING - IT'S CLEARLY MENTION IN THE TOUR ACTIVITIES VISITING 13TH CENTURY CASTLE DUNVEGAN. WE ONLY DRIVE SOMEHOW CLOSE TO TAKE A PICTURE AND AGAIN THE TOUR GUIDE WAS SURPRISED THAT WE WANT TO ACTUALLY GO SEE IT FROM INSIDE. VERY DISSAPOINTING.... TO SEE ONLY ONE CASTLE DURING 3 DAYS TOUR... AND THE REST IS JUST NATURE.... YET BEAUTIFUL, BUT DEFINITELY NOT WORTH 487 WHICH I HAVE PAID FOR THIS TOUR
The tour was very relaxing and pleasant. Our guide/Driver Dunken was really informative and friendly. We learnt a lot about Scottish history. Accommodation at Inverness was very cosy and homely. Great tour package overall. We enjoyed the trip and definitely gonna recommend it to others. Only thing that bothered me that we didn't get any discount in local restaurants.
