It was a really lovely evening. We were warmly greeted on arrival and the evening was explained to us clearly. The meal was absolutely beyond compare, and our host for the whiskey tasting was friendly, knowledgable and fun. We had the best time ever.

We loved the dinner and whisky tasting, it was a bit confusing about when we were suppose to do the whisky tasting, but once explained, you eat first and then someone comes up and does a one on one and goes over the each of the whiskeys with you from the different regions. It was a great evening.

A great evening with a delicious dinner and very informative/entertaining whisky tasting adviser. Well worth the money.

Doing what: Whisky Tasting and Dinner in Edinburgh
While there was some initial confusion since our information from Viator gave conflicting times for the reservation, the staff at the restaurant gave us exceptionally good service and outstanding attention. They acccommodated us even though we showed up 3 hours early because of the mis-information provided on the Viator confirmation. The meal was outstanding and the whiskey tasting informative and fun. The only small disappointment was that we were not part of a larger group, but actually the only people participating in the tasting. It may have been more fun if the group had been larger, but the restaurant was absolutely wonderful to us. I would definitely recommend this experience to others. Food was EXCELLENT! Restaurant is actually quite a distance from the city center, so it was a do-able, but long, walk.

The whiskey tasting part was very informative. However there were other (loud) patrons so it was hard to hear sometimes. Also, there was a large private party upstairs; so even though they took our orders ahead of the tasting we got behind them and had to wait forever for mediocre warm food.

I was a little bit dissapointed about the food.. I don't like wiskey (but my boyfriend does!), so I had my hopes up for the gourmet dinner. I missed that they didn't "promote" the menue and tell us more about it. Liked that we had dinner first, then wiskey-tasting. The wiskeyguide did a good job!

The whiskey tasting was a great experience. The staff member doing the tasting was excellent. There was an excellent variety of whiskeys and this gave us a good starting knowledge of the different regions. The meal was wonderful as well. I would recommend it to anyone interested in trying and comparing a variety of whiskeys.

We booked this online from the U.S. having never been to Scotland so we weren't sure what to expect. We were not disappointed. The food is some of the best we've had anywhere in the world. Beautifully presented and delicious. The whiskey tasting done by Miriam at the end of the meal was a delight. She was very well informed and we had a really great time. I highly recommend this if you want a quiet, leisurely delicious meal - or course it was a Sunday night, so it may not be all that quiet during the week.

This was given as a 30th birthday present and was a great success! We both had a lovely time - our whisky expert was very well informed and very friendly, and the meal that followed was delicious! The environment was excellent - very helpful and welcoming staff, beautiful original artwork on the walls, and a great atmosphere (not too loud, not too quiet). We were made to feel very welcome and special throughout the evening. Highly recommend!

There were only 5 people. With a larger group it would have been more fun

Fantastic dinner and a really informative whisky tasting. If you like scotch, give it a try. My only complaint is that it was a little pricey, but then again, my silly American dollars don't go very far in the UK.
