Doing what: Tokyo Highlights Afternoon Tour and Sumida River Cruise

This was an interesting introduction to Tokyo city ending at the fascinating Asakusa market and temple area. There was good time to wander around the temple precinct. Guide was excellent.

This is a great tour. We left the tour in Asakusa to shop at the Nakamise area. Be sure you know where they leave you in Ginza. You need to find your way back! We knew this but it was funny to see the reactions of people when they found out they had to find their way back. Do your research people!!!

The good thing about this tour is that you manage to go to a lot of places in one day, and the guide was quite knowledgeable and shared a lot of insights about Japanese life. However, the main drawback is that it was a bit rushed. You can't even stop to take a picture, otherwise you will fall behind the pack! Also, the guide gave lots of information, but sometimes too much before you could even digest it. We did not stop at Asakusa Guest House as we were supposed to. Although the lunch was good, it would have been better to have Japanese cuisine in line with the theme of the tour. Perhaps the tour company can modify either the Panoramic or Dynamic Tours in such a way that there would be no duplication, so we can get both tours on different days.

Doing what: Tokyo Highlights Afternoon Tour and Sumida River Cruise

Places visited were within easy reach of the city. The river cruise was boring - all the guide did was name the bridges, no history of the surrounding sites. We left the tour at the Asakusa shrine and made our way home after shopping.

Doing what: Tokyo Morning Sightseeing Tour

Poor value for money, to be honest. We were left at Asakusa by 11am, which was really the only place other than the Tokyo Tower you actually visit; most of the time was on the bus or walking besides the Imperial Palace, not in it. After our dropoff, the trip went on to the pearl factory tourist trap. The tour guide was genuinely helpful telling me and my wife the ins and outs of Tokyo life, but at 25 pounds the trip wasn't the best. Visit all these places yourself; you would spend time there and maybe even save a couple of pounds.

These are all places you can easily get to on your own if you're willing to navigate the subway network. You'll definitely save some time by taking this bus tour, but you don't get much time at each location, which means you might want to return on your own to spend some more time viewing or shopping. The stalls in Asakusa are wonderful to leisurely stroll through with all of their food, souvenirs, and other goods.

Doing what: Tokyo Morning Sightseeing Tour

Was enjoyable and probably captures a nice overview of the city from which you can then explore further. You stop and visit about 4 key places. 1. The Tokyo Tower and visit the Observation Deck 2. The Imperial Palace you stop at outside on the road but really don't see anything at all 3. The Buddhist Temple in Asakusa with it's little street bazaar of souvenir shops was a nice diversion for 40 min 4. The Pearl Jewelery producer where they explain how they produce pearls, grade them etc. but really its just an opportunity to try to sell you pearl jewelery.

We were only in Tokyo for a short time and wanted to see the major attractions without feeling like we were running around. This tour was perfect as it took us on a comfortable air-conditioned bus to Meiji Shinto Shrine, Asakusa Kannon Temple and the Imperial Palace, plus other locations. Our guide was excellent and provided great details and perspective.

Trip was absolutely fantastic! It was so worth every single penny. I couldn't believe that we had so many places to go and see and the lunch was perfect, fine dining. All the places are breath-taking especially the Tokyo bay cruise. Wow, I just wish we had more time in Asakusa because there was more shopping to do there, hehe. But overall, it was superb! Can't wait for my next trip - I love Tokyo!

We did this trip within a few days of arriving in Tokyo. This was an excellent tour that enabled us to orientate ourselves around Tokyo central and surrounding suburbs. Well worthwhile if you have a short stopover in Tokyo. Only issue was not having not enough time to shop for gifts in Asakusa - we returned on another day.
