High quality tour. Fantastic guide. Enough time spent at 5th station. Needed 10 more minutes to enjoy lunch that bit more, and probably needed another hour pottering about in Hakone. Maybe next time I'll stay in Hakone to get my fix.

Fantastic views of Fuji and Hakone was a treat. Lunch wasn't as good as the Nikko tour. Dont go at weekends or the traffic will kill you on the way back!

I am very satisfied in our Mt. Fuji day trip tour. Very reasonable price for a splendid view on our way. The tourist guide was very informative. I enjoy the short cruise in Lake Ashi and cable car in Hakone. It was a sunny day so view of Mt. Fuji was perfect the whole day. Thank you Viator for your remarkable service to the tourist.

Disappointing day. Guide's English took a bit of time to get used to but he was quite interesting in his comments on Japanese life.
Too much time taken up on the road for the few sights included. I would recommend a 2 day or more trip to include more of the Hakone area.
Cruise was too short to be really interesting. 5th Station was closed due to snow and views from 4th Station limited. Reasonable views from top of rope way but car too overcrowded for enjoyment.

Fantastic day trip, would recommend to anybody to do this!!! Got to see Mt Fuji, Lake Ashi and Hakone - which was a highlight for me.

Doing what: Mt Fuji, Lake Ashi and Bullet Train Day Trip from Tokyo

We were very lucky when we took this tour because despite the cloudy day, the sun came out when we reached Mt. Fuji. Our tourguide and bus driver were kind enough to stop the bus at roadside to get a good angle of the mountain even before our main stop. Props to our tourguide for bringing colored papers ang gave us lessons on how to do an origami of Mt. Fuji.
The cruise of Lake Ashi at Hakone was surreal.
I highly suggest taking the bullet train going back because traffic is unpredictable going back to the city.

Doing what: 2-Day Mt Fuji, Hakone and Bullet Train Tour from Tokyo

This tour is definitely worth taking, but is not without risks. Access to Mt Fuji beyond the visitor center is subject to weather, and we are told by the guide this is possible only about 80+days a year. We were fortunate to be able to ascent, as the frozen road de-iced by late morning, after being told en-route from Tokyo that access for the day is closed. Hakone, especially Gora is definitely another highlight.
If you do choose to stay overnight, try not to stay at the lakeside annex of the Prince Resort. We did, thinking it would afford a nice view of Lake Ashi. However, this turned out to be the lowest point of our trip. The lakeside annex of the resort is certainly not up to standard and both the rooms (we had to change room once) were cramped and very dated. Stains were clear on the wallpapers, everything was very basic. Also be sure to make dinner reservations before arrival or your choice will be very limited.
Fortunately for us, Hakone and Gora especially made up for the accommodation low-point!
Overall, worth doing but choose the right accommodation please.

Doing what: 2-Day Mt Fuji, Hakone and Bullet Train Tour from Tokyo

Very well organized bus tour. The tour guide was excellent, knowledgeable and great customer service. We learned a lot from the guide on history, environment, political and social aspect of Tokyo and Japan. Strongly recommend to continue this service to tourists. It made up with the usual cloudy and foggy day at the 5th station.
Our side trip around Hakone was great. Some suggestions would be helpful for those tourists that don't speak Japanese: better information on how to take transportation around Hakone to avoid losing the valuable time for the one-day city exploration.

Doing what: Mt Fuji, Lake Ashi and Bullet Train Day Trip from Tokyo

This trip was good despite Mt Fuji was covered by clouds where we can't view the top of the Mt. However, the visit to Lake Ashi and Mt Hakone compensated with nice resort view. Bullet train ride enjoyable and fast.

Very enjoyable trip. Guide was very well informed, able to communicate clearly, and fun. Altho the gates to Mt Fuji were closed due to weather, we were able to see it up close and really enjoyed Hakone...Best view we saw while in Japan!

We had a wonderful day on our trip to Mt Fuji and Hakone. Our guide was helpful, enthusiastic and organized in her presentation of information and happy to answer any questions. We went up to the 4th station and there was snow. The view of the southern mountain ranges was breathtaking. The imposing and spiritual nature of Fujiyama was comparable to our experience of Uluru in Central Australia. Our 7 year old traveller thought it was heaven to play in the snow, cruise on the lake and have a cable car ride on the same day. There were beautiful woodwork handicraft in the Hakone area. The schedule was kept on time and consideration was given to regular toilet stops. The lunch option was worth it as it provided a comfortable break during the day. Our only minor reservation is that there could be less commentary to give us the space and silence to contemplate the views (from different directions) of Fujiyama. A worthwhile experience and a highlight in our 10 night stay in Tokyo.

The tour started very well and we went to Mount Fuji and got some interesting facts about the region. Unfortunately half way through, this particular tour was thwarted by the large earthquake which hit Japan, and my tour group was stranded on top of Mount Komagatake after taking the cable car to the summit at 1357m. Despite the harrowing descent (which took place on foot) and then being stranded in Hakone town for the night, the tour company dealt with this extremely well. The tour guides did all in their power to look after us and make this terrible experience as painless as was humanly possible. I cannot praise the tour guide and the company them highly enough.

The best part of the trip was the trip of Hakone and Lake Ashi. It was also great to meet the other tourists on the trip. We had a blast. The Mt. Fuji portion is very short and a very long bus ride. If able I would spend more time in Hakone. Overall great tour.

Just awesome... the tour guide was very informative not only about Mt Fuji and Hakone but also Japanese etiquette and Tokyo, etc

Trip was fabulous, highly recommended. I live in Tokyo and have been to this area more times that I can recount and still found this very enjoyable. A great day trip from Tokyo. The only disappointment is that from Lake Ashi you go on the tired and run down cable car, not the Hakone ropway which has more stunning views and the volcanic hot springs at the top of the mountain.
