Doing what: Nikko National Park Day Trip from Tokyo

Very pleased with the service provided by Sunrise Tours. And as for the actual tour, well my 5 star rating says it all. It snowed quite heavily that day, but that added a very special charm to the atmosphere and the temple complex.
Nikko National park day trip comes highly recommended.

The tour was amazing! The tour guide was fantastic, and the trip itself was very funny. The site is worth every penny, fantastic to go in autum, with that red, green, and yellow colors of the trees. The Nikko Toshoogu shrine is a world wonder itself and the imperial villa was a relaxing ending

This is a great tour of Nikko, you see the best of the town in one day. The tour guide was awesome and really polite.

The Nikko Day trip was a wonderful experience; the guide was entertaining and very thorough with her explanations. The autumn colours, the temples and palace, and waterfal that we visited were fantastic. We opted for the lunch option and were very happy (and surprised) with the quality of food and service. In all a great day!

Wonderful tour! The tour guide narrated the entire trip up to Nikko (2.5 Hrs.) with Japanese History 101, and wove all the historical significance of Nikko into it. Nikko is colder than Tokyo by about 20 degrees, pack a shawl. We also visited the imperial palace, which was incredible! I got the best pictures of my Japan trip. Also, the bus was brand new and better than any tour bus I've seen in America. Lunch, also incredible. Do it!

An enjoyable day; although I always enjoy any visit to Japan. The day was long but for those interested in learning about the Soul of Japan then a trip to Nikko is a must do. The guide for the trip was wonderful, and provide us with sufficient information but not too much to make us switch-off. An excellent day.

It was a wonderful trip and truly appreciated the guide's knowledge and enthusiasm. All sites visited were worth it, but I especially liked the Nikko site and wish we had more time at this site.

Doing what: Nikko National Park Day Trip from Tokyo

We decided to book a day tour to Nikko as opposed to traveling there by train and spending one or two nights. The Viator tour was the right choice. It was apparent that we (3 of us traveling together) would have spent most of our time just arranging transportation, walking miles, and studying local maps and probably requiring 2 days to cover what the tour did in one day. Our leader Mr. Takadashi was extremely knowledgable about all aspects of Japanese culture, especially economics and current affairs. And, the Japanese lunch included in our tour was excellent, one of the best in our two-week stay. I still have my origami Samurai helmet (miniature) and instructions

This day trip was the perfect balance between temples and nature. Whilst it took 2 hours to drive to Nikko, the surrounding snow made it all worthwhile! The temple looked amazing, lunch was fantastic - the best lunch I had on any tour in Japan. And Kegon waterfall was breathtaking - it was the first time I had ever seen a partly frozen waterfall. Whilst I was unsure about booking this tour, this turned out to be the best thing I did in Japan!

I'm so glad I booked this tour through Viator. I had considered trying to get to Nikko on my own but, even if I had successfully done so, I never could have had such a rich and well planned experience as Viator provided. Our guide was delightful and knowledgable. The planning and execution of every aspect of the day was perfect. And, of course, Nikko is not to be missed.

This is a must trip if you are a nature lover. Nikko is a wonderful place with nature surrounding coupled with the majestic of the Toshugu Shrine. The best of historical evidences and craftmenship of the architecture of the shrine was just breath taking not to forget the numerous cedar trees surrounded it. The scenery at Chuzenji Lake with Mt. Namtai at the background was fantastic. At Kegon fall, a bit diappointed that we did not take the lift down to the base of the fall where view of fall must be even better. Overall, a very enjoyable trip.

We had a great time with our family of four. Our kids are 10 and 12. We went in April, and it snowed. This only made Nikko and the lake more beautiful. Our guide spoke great English and was very informative. All in all a great time.
