Tokyo for Art Lovers

Tokyo for Art Lovers
Tokyo for Art Lovers

It’s only natural that aesthetes, artists and creatives be drawn to Tokyo and Japan.  The country’s ancient history and culture combined with Tokyo’s cutting-edge, kooky and adventurous spirit has spawned a visual feast of art, design, architecture and fashion.

Check out our art lovers guide to Tokyo:

National Museum of Modern Art (MOMAT)
MOMAT houses Japan’s largest collection of contemporary Japanese art and contains an extensive collection of uikyo-e (woodblock prints) and a craft gallery full of textiles, ceramics and lacquer works. The National Film Center, in the Kyōbashi building is part of the museum.
