2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better Review by Nancy C, USA, June 2010
Doing what: Toronto City Hop-on Hop-off Tour

It was a very hot day and the air conditioning in the tour bus was not working so needless to say it made the trip uncomfortable. Everyone was complaining about the heat. Seems they could and should have provided us with a different tour bus.

again a very good value for money tour

Doing what: Toronto City Hop-on Hop-off Tour

Great introduction to the city. Suggest you do the full 2 hour loop tour when you first arrive, then you can decide where you want to explore in more depth. A 3 day pass sounds a good idea, but in reality you are unlikely to get the maximum usage out of this because the bus only picks up from each stop every 2 hours. For us this meant a lot of hanging about between attractions. A timetable would have been useful at the time of booking, then we could have planned our itinerary better. We only received the timetable once we got on the bus. The bus stops do not have timetables at them either, the only information you receive is where the bus tour starts and at what time. This makes it difficult to join it en route, as you do not know what time it gets to the various stops, and if you miss it, there is a 2 hour wait for the next one. Be wary as well of the bus stops. In the off season the route is different, and the bus does not stop at all the marked stops.

The buses could do with a bit of updating, otherwise it was value for money. All of the tour guides were very entertaining

2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better Review by Jacqueline H, USA, January 2010
Doing what: Toronto City Hop-on Hop-off Tour

This was not what we expected. I used this service in Washington, DC, and it worked much better. The buses in Toronto did not keep a good schedule and were too sparse. We ended up taking cabs to get around to the different sites. The stops were also poorly marked. The tour guide could have given more information about the sites we passed other than just pointing them out.

The buses were not frequent enough. The tour guides didn't do much more than tell us what we were passing, no background information.

Doing what: Toronto City Hop-on Hop-off Tour

Very nice tour. One day we took the north-south line. Next day we took the east-west.

The blue line or north-south loop the city sights is good, frequent and gives you an idea of the downtown. The green line or east-west loop of ethnic neighbourhoods is also good but very long and less frequent. Difficult to find the bus stops and occurs with coach, not open-top double-decker, and I didn't like that part. The guides are very informative and helpful in both loops.

1 star rating: I do not recommend this Review by Robert M, USA, August 2009
Doing what: Toronto City Hop-on Hop-off Tour

The bus is very old. The ride is very rough. The guide could not be understood. The bus rattles so loud we could not hear each other.

Doing what: Toronto City Hop-on Hop-off Tour

Easy paced. Try both the loops North-South and East-West. East-West goes through Chinatown, Little India, Little Italy, etc. whilst the North-South takes you through the main spots of Toronto. Gorgeous city and the commentary was interesting and engaging.

Stayed on board, covered areas we would not have seen.

Probably a better tour in the summer months. Although the guide was again very knowledgeable and funny.

The tour guide was great, very knowledgeable and witty. Great commentary and well worth going on this tour - especially if you only have sort time in Toronto as you'll see all the highlights

Doing what: Toronto City Hop-on Hop-off Tour

This is a good trip and a perfect introduction to the sights of Toronto. The guides are very good with plenty of anecdotes and are very helpful in suggesting when and where to get off and when the next bus will be along. We got the 3 day ticket which gives loads of time for doing the sights. Casa Loma is a good stop and the CN tower is a must. The Distillery district and waterfront are also good stopping off spots. I think the company do a great job and that their staff are all helpful and knowledgeable. If you have time try their Niagara Falls day trip - it's great!

We were only 2 person on the bus. It was difficult to see anything through the windows. The guide, a nice guy, but he was talking too much, so it was difficult to concentrate on the tour, and follow where we was going in town. He expected some conversation. I expected just to sit an listen, and look out the window.
