Housed in a former Augustine monastery, the extensive Musée des Augustins collection brings together paintings and sculptures from the medieval era to the 20th century.
The Gothic interior and 14th-century cloisters form a marvelous backdrop to artworks by French masters such as Ingres, Delacroix, Corot, Courbet and Toulouse-Lautrec.
The collection also includes works by other European artists such as Perugino, Crespi, Reni, Rubens and Murillo.
Visit the cloisters to admire the medieval garden, and don’t miss sculptures by Rodin and the collection of Romanesque gargoyles.
