If you venture across the Rio de la Plata, you will find the small country of Uruguay, one of the most developed in South America. Bordering Brazil and Argentina, this small nation shares many cultural traditions from its neighbors. The three have a common pride and passion for their beaches, the gaucho, the tango and their national sport, football.

Influenced largely by Europe, Uruguay is frequently referred to as the “Switzerland of South America”.  You will definitely notice the European-style architecture and the fact that most locals are primarily of European origin.
