The two remote Lakes Fagnano and Escondido are picturesque water features of the Fuegian Andes.

Ringed by low-lying snow-capped mountains, the gentle waterways are celebrated for their good trout fishing, attracting anglers from around the country.

Walking tracks ring the lakes, and historic inns and disused sawmills provide insights into this remote region’s history.

Peat bogs and valleys are another feature of the Fuegian Andes, along with cross-country skiing in winter and traditional Fuegian asado feasts of barbecued lamb year-round.
