Over the past couple of years Food Trucks have become an increasingly popular trend in large cities with Vancouver leading the way in Canada. Vancouver is popular for having unique Food Trucks with their own spin on typical food truck food like JapaDog to bringing Indian food and surprisingly Australian food to the city streets and out of the restaurants. From the 100+ that now roam the city streets here is a list of some of the best and unique food trucks to grab some lunch at while visiting Vancouver.

JapaDog

The aforementioned JapaDog serves up Japanese style hotdogs in four locations in Vancouver. The hotdogs are topped with wasabi, seaweed, teriyaki, okonomiyaki and other Japanese inspired toppings.

Aussie Pie Guy

One of the newest food trucks in Vancouver is the Aussie Pie Guy. Savory meat pies are a popular food in Australia and the Aussie Pie Guy has brought them to downtown Vancouver. They serve everything from the traditional pie with beef, gravy and onions along with having pulled pork pies, vegetarian and even vegan options.

Mom’s Grilled Cheese

Gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches. I don’t think I need to say much more here except that they also serve up even more comfort foods like mom use to make such as soups, meatloaf and egg salad sandwiches.

Soho Road Naan Kebab

Rated as the number one food cart by Global TV the Soho Road Naan Kebab food cart describes themselves as traditional UK Tandoori serving up the freshest naan bread in the city and topping it with delicious food like butter chicken. There is often a wait but it is definitely worth it.

The Kaboom Box

The Kaboom Box serves up fresh, organic, healthy, sustainable and local food from British Columbia. All of the seafood they serve is Oceanwise certified like their popular world famous hot smoked salmon “salmwich”. The wild caught salmon is hot smoked in the food cart and placed on a bun with house-made maple-mustard slaw. Drool.

If you can only try just a couple of these food carts while visiting Vancouver I guarantee that you will be impressed and delightfully full. Enjoy.
