VANCOUVER: The Laughing Bridge

VANCOUVER: The Laughing Bridge

If you’re not a fan of heights, fast-moving rivers, or swaying bridges, this may not be the right attraction for you!

What began in the late 1880′s as a cedar plank held up by hemp rope – built by a Scotsman who had a cabin on one side of the river – has now been replaced by wire cables, concrete encasement, and some much-needed extra safety precautions. The bridge is actually just a few years younger than the city of Vancouver herself.
