If you have an extra day in Venice after exploring there then I thoroughly recommend this tour. Daniel (our guide / driver) met us on time and we travelled via a very comfortable mini bus. The views were spectacular and there were ample stops for photos. It was a long day but well worth the time to visit such a unique part of Veneto. Daniel was very informative and knowledgeable on the area. Lunch was a highlight over looking the lake in Misurina.
absolutely amazing scenery, good guide, one of our best days
We had a fantastic tour guide - Thank you Carlos! The weather was great and it even snowed for a short time while we were at the top (of the mountain) Strada Panoramica Delle! The transport vehicle was great for the small group and very comfortable. The scenery was fantastic and we had plenty of time to stop along the way for photos. Lunch by Bivio Musurino Lake was awesome, in a warm and cosy cafe!
Definitely recommend this tour to others. Long day, but well worth it!
Great trip, we enjoyed it very much. Stunning scenery and breathtaking climb to top of mountains. Our guide Carlo was very informative and passionate about this part of Italy. Great value for money and one of the highlights of our holiday.
This tour was awesome. Great views and stops. Our driver, Alessandro, was excellent. Highly recommend!
A well-organized tour, which left a good feeling in spite of rather bad weather. Our guide was excellent. We heard many interesting facts about the history of Italy and Venice. Cortina, the place of the Winter Olympics 1956 was very interesting
I Highly recommend this day trip the scenery was breathtaking and the guides were excellent.
It was a great tour! The Dolomite Mountains are amazing. Our guide was very informative and friendly. The panoramic you see from the top is stunning. Great tour and highly recommended.
This day trip was almost the best part of my week in Venice (The Biennale was the best ) I was traveling alone and this was the only conversation I had all week. I did have to provide the sense of humor and initiate conversation, if it's a van full of shy people it might not be so fun. The scenery is breathtaking, I was there in the fall when the pine trees are yellow, a sight to see itself. The towns are quaint backed by the dramatic mountains. I was glad I was in this (mercedes by the way) van with 5 other people rather than the large bus tours. It was very worth it, you get back to the bus station around 6:pm (doesn't say this on any paperwork.) Do tip the driver, it is a long day of driving, there's a lot of scenic stops, a lunch stop where I finally had a decent hot meal in my whole week in Venice, they still don't put much ice in your coke! you see the town where some? of the movie Clifhanger was filmed. When you get to the highest point (this tour doesn't go to the top, but over 2000 ft) give a loud yell into the peaks and the echo is really cool. Be carefull when meeting the tour in the morning, I took the people mover and waited at the Tronchetta vaporetto stop underneath, but I guess there are 2 Tronchetta stops, its the 2nd stop in front of the large brick building where other large tour groups gather and larger boats are docked. (not cruise ships). A 2 minute walk between these 2 stops. If you have a cell phone you can just call the driver or company, but my cell phone wasn't working because I didn't get an international plan before I left.
The Dolomites are amazing and definitely worth taking this tour if this is the only way to see them (which was true for my friend). I was disappointed that the hike was omitted from the tour I took - one of the main attractions for me. The things that were included were good, and the views incredible.
Although the scenery was spectacular when we finally arrived the getting there was quiet a chore. 1 : the instructions on finding the location was not clear especially if coming from a different area. Would have been easier if stated make way to Tronchetta and wait beside the café. not the added section of via railway up over the stairs!!!
2: We had 5 in our party 2 x 8 seat vans arrived we were promised an English speaking guide that would have been ok if we were lucky enough to be on the other small bus. Our guide could hardly speak a word of English so we had no idea where we were or what we were missing as the only time we were told anything was when we stopped at a certain point and the guide from the other bus gave us a quick rundown of where we had passed, to late then !!.
3: The most worry of all was the speed of the drivers mostly around 140 KPH to 170 KPH weaving in and out of traffic we did not enjoy the trip at all due to the stress of wondering if we were going to make it home alive to see our children again. Even when we asked the driver the speed limit and he said 100 while doing a 140 and texting on the mobile phone he laughed when we said he was speeding his comment was" if get caught". Very disappointing and not a good advertisement for Viator considering we booked all our tours through the company this was the worst experience and not worth the money paid.
Excellent tour and excellent Tour Guide..!!
We loved this tour, the scenery amazed us, this was our 30th tour in 10 weeks of travel, and one of the top 5. My wife said we are finishing our trip on a "high", and I replied "in more ways than one". The 2 hours travel each way was not a problem, comfortable vehicle, good guide.
This tour was amazing! The Dolomites are awesome, and the scenery was beautiful! A lot of driving, but we were able to make multiple stops during the day. Several photo stops, a 1/2-hour stop at a small village for gelato, and a nice long stop at a lovely outdoor lunch place right on the lake. We traveled in a couple of mini-vans because of the narrow roads (rather than a bus), so the small group setting was great. By the time we got to Cortina, the weather had gotten overcast and our time there was too short; but overall the day was fantatic and I would recommend this tour highly.
It was wonderful to get out of the city and the scenery was fantastic. I recommend the small group tours.
