Doing what: Dolomite Mountains Small Group Day Trip from Venice

A wonderful tour in every way. We travelled right up into the mountains near the Austrian border; the views were superb, the lunchtime stop very well chosen, and the small towns stopped at fascinating. Our guide/driver was excellent. Thoroughly recommended.

Doing what: Venice Gondola Ride and Serenade

We thoroughly enjoyed our gondola ride - a great way to finish our day in Venice.

Doing what: Skip the Line: Venice in One Day

This tour is in 2 parts - a 3 hour walking tour and a one hour boat tour later in the day. The walking tour is excellent - skip the line is really worthwhile as the lines are huge. The walking tour is quite draining (we had a very hot day). You will need to take water but beware- public toilets are nowhere to be found! You will need to buy a drink in a cafe to use the toilets. The boat tour gave a totally different perspective - much smaller group (about 6) and our guide was very knowledgable. We only had a limited time in Venice - this tour enabled us to make the most of our time.

Doing what: Skip the Line: Venice Walking Tour with St Mark's Basilica

This is an excellent tour to take part in if you are a first-time visitor to Venice, as me and my boyfriend were. Our tour guide, Nicoletta, was very friendly and informative, and the tour was exactly what we needed to get to know our way around the San Marco/Rialto area.
Although our visit to the Basilica was only brief, the guide was informative and it gave us a good overview of the main points of this beautiful place. If you're into your religious and art history its definitely worth a second, longer visit- although you'll have to wait in line!

Overall, this was an excellent tour with a great overview of interesting nuggets of information about Venice's many beautiful and historic buildings, as well as a great way to get to know the area for yourself. Highly recommended, and Nicoletta was a fantastic guide.

Doing what: Venice Grand Canal Boat Tour

Be sure to be the first in the boat to get a seat in the rear, otherwise you may have to sit inside in which case this tour would have a much lower rating. The whole point of this tour is to see and experience a ride on the canals, which sitting inside makes difficult. The tour itself was very pleasant. We saw many of the major sites from the boat, including little known areas that I visited by foot the next day. The guide was very professional and knowledgeable; in fact he was a native Venetian! This is a good and less expensive way to see Venice by boat (rather than a gondola), but again, make sure you get in first and get a seat in the stern!

Doing what: Venice Gondola Ride and Serenade

I have mixed feelings on this review.....the people running the ride were extremely rude but the gondola ride itself was nice. The gentleman doing the serenande was really talented and very enjoyable but they had the gondolas ganged up in a bunch to hear one person when I thought the singer was just for our own gondola ride. And if you hope to sit in the ONE seat for two then you better hope you are positioned in line to get that seat or you are not sitting next to each other in a 6 person gondola!

The glass is a lot cheaper in the shops down the road rather then then the shop you watch the glass blower in.
