Doing what: Venice Gondola Ride and Serenade
The gondola ride itself was amazing - a true highlight of Venice. And while we thought going into it that iit might be cheesy having a singer and an accordion player along, I must confess that was somewhat magical: those sounds echoing off the narrow, ancient walls as we wended our way through the canals.
We do have one criticism. There was zero personalization for the tour. No one greeted us (they merely took our vouchers). The gondolier didn't introduce himself. We weren't introduced to the two other couples in our boat. We didn't get to meet the musicians (they were in the next boat). We were just ushered into a boat and away we went. So that aspect felt highly impersonal and a real turnoff. Still, the ride and serenade were lovely.

Thoroughly enjoyed this trip, and the serenade bit was the icing on the cake on our first visit to Venice. Also pre booking in the UK took the hassle out of having to haggle a price when we got to Venice which would have taken some of the magic away from the gondola ride. Would recommend, we thought it was fabulous.

This was beautiful. The city, Gondola ride with the serenade and the experience all made this trip the best proposal i could give to my girlfriend. I proposed on the gondola ride and she said yes. she loved every moment of the experience and she couldn't stop crying. Thank you for a wonderful timex

fantastic night. the singer had a great voice and serenaded us for 40 minutes. the restaraunt was a little difficult to find, but we were made welcome and the food was excellent. the gondola ride could be a little longer, perhaps.

Would recommend the gondola with the serenade. Venice was lovely in the twlight. Only thing better would have been a private gondola if you want to splurge!

Absolutely magical.. The Serenade and the accordian music made the Gondola ride. Be sure to know though that you will be riding in the same Gondola with other people. You do not get your own gondola with your significant other. (sometimes you might not get to sit side by side either so try speaking up if you want to)

This was a great experience, and although expensive, which is why I haven't given it 5 stars. It is really worth paying in advance to ensure you don't have to haggle with the gondoliers over price. The serenade was first class as the singer had a tremendous voice, and his rendition of "Oh sole mio" was so moving. We did the sunset gondola ride and it was really pretty and lovely.

Well worth the money paid. Had a wonderful ride. Sometimes it was difficult to hear the serenade due to the number of gondolas in the group.
Would definitely recommend.

The gondola ride was not what we were expecting since there were 6 gondolas and only one singer and musician to serenade us all at once. We moved as a group through the grand canal, then into the smaller canals. It turned out to be very enjoyable, the singer was great, and the weather was perfect.

The ride itself was wonderful. There were only 4 per gonola so it was very comfortable. The serenader was located in another gondola but we all stayed close. The problem was finding the meeting point. More instructions are needed. Also, we were the only ones to go to dinner afterward and we were left standing there wondering where to go. The ticket was taken by the gondola people so we had to ask him for the paperwork and directions; it was not obvious and should be included in the instructions. It was a few blocks away. The dinner was great, once we found the place. The people were so nice. Actually, I left my purse there and the waiter came running after me. Very nice, honest people. Overall, the experience itself was great, but Viator dropped the ball with instructions.

If you haven't ridden a gondola, this is worth doing. But go before dark. Ours started @ 7:30 and we couldn't see much of the area. Our ride wasn't very romantic, either. A group of 7 gondolas riding together with about 6 people on each one! 1 serenader was in one of the gondolas. Being from Orlando, I felt like we were on a ride at Disney.
