Doing what: Versailles Gardens Ticket: Grand Canal Royal Fireworks Show

This was the highlight of our 6 weeks trip to France and Italy. It was amazing....Handle's music, fireworks and laserlights with the Grand Canal as the centre stage. Easy train access from Paris. Although we paid for front row seating, any seat would have provided spectacular views.

Awesome show! The cheapest seat is as good as any, wouldn't pay more for a view.

Doing what: Versailles Gardens Ticket: Grand Canal Royal Fireworks Show

If you love fireworks, this was a once in a lifetime event! The finale, set to Handel's Messiah, was spectacular. We purchased the mid-priced tickets and they were great. You should know that if you are coming from Paris, the last metro from Versailles to Paris is at 23:55, meaning you would have to leave the show early as it does not end until 23:30. However, at check in for the mid-priced tickets, the tour operators were extremely helpful in guiding us to a bus that would take us to the Verailles Chantiers train station. This train to Paris Montparnasse left at 00:35 allowing us to stay for the entire event. From Montparnasse we took the metro to our regular stop and got home about 2:00 AM. With all of the people coming back from Versailles, it felt quite safe! Don't miss this event.

Doing what: Versailles Night Fountain Show and Fireworks from Paris

Best experience of the holiday. Cannot recommend this highly enough. The scenery is breathtaking . Hotel pick up and drop off a must for this. No queuing (unlike visiting the palace during the day!) . Guide gave interesting commentary . Five stars!

The show is magnificent, however Viator should warn potential customers that it is not possible to connect with a train back to Paris that evening, either from Versailles-Rive Gauche or Versailles Chantiers. We were very fortunate to have a mobile phone with us and someone helped with the number to call a cab to the Chantiers station. In my opinion, Viator should offer transportation back to Paris in conjunction with this tour.

The skip the line part was awesome, as the lines were very long. The tour was excellent, especially the headsets which allowed you to hear the guide no matter where you were standing. I didn't like the empty time between the fountain show and the tour which ended at 5, but we got a chance to buy the best chocolate covered cherries I have ever had from the chocolate shop across from the train station. Better be sure you have round trip train tickets back and don't miss the last train at midnight. You'll miss some of the fireworks just to be close to the entrance or you will miss that train back to Paris. They let you in at 8 to see the fountain show, but don't start the fountains up until 9, which means an hour of milling around doing nothing and waiting while all the gardens are locked and guarded. The fountain show is fabulous, and worth the trip.

I thought our guide was very thorough and informative and did a great job. I would have given a higher rating, but the customer service person (telephone) I purchased the tickets from did not understand anything about the tour and timing, resulting in us not being able to see the gardens as we were told.Closure of the palace between events and timing of last train were never explained until we were on the tour, thus causing a bad experience. The website and support staff need to provide more detail.

I wish we had more tidbits of information. I wanted little extra information and random knowledge. I did not get it. Our guide was nice and knowledgable but I could have used an audio guide for the same thing. I also wish they would be at the meeting point a few minutes early. We were confused and they were late.
