Erin was a sweet girl with some interesting stories, but she left us behind at the ferry (she had no choice but to leave) because she wasn't specific enough about what time we had to be back on the bus. We ended up missing out on about 2 hrs of the downtown Victoria time, which at least did not inconvenience the other people on the tour. Then we were 15 minutes into our commute to Butchart Gardens when she realized she left 2 Japanese girls in Victoria! She said, "Well, I guess I should have done a head count!" No kidding. We feel the ferry incident was partly our fault, but leaving without the Japanese girls was pretty unforgiveable. The Butchart Gardens were amazing, Erin's driving skills were fine and her stories interesting, so all in all I'd give the trip a 3.
Well worth it. Vicoria is a beautiful city with lots to see and wonderful restaurants to have lunch in.And Butchart Gardens were gorgeous inspite of the rain . Anyway we were never short of umbrellas to keep off the rain as both the bus and the gardens had plenty available
Viator has done it again! I have used Viator many times and have always been pleased. The Victoria and Butchart Gardens tour was great, you just need to adjust the amount of time in each place. Three hours in the gardens and only two hours in Victoria. Land and sea tours are a very professional tour company.
Absolutely beautiful. Victoria is a stunning and friendly city, not built out. As for the Butchart Gardens, words cannot describe adequately the beauty of the place. Although they are entering Autumn there were still plenty of blooms to see.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Butchart Gardens. Even the trip from downtown Victoria out to the gardens was fun and our driver very informative and entertaining. I'm not sure what more there is to say about the gardens that hasn't already been said by other reviewers, they are simply amazing. I think my wife may have summed it up best saying, "this must be what the Garden of Eden looked like".
Doing what: Butchart Gardens Tour from Victoria
A long day, but worth it. While in Victoria we took a horse drawn carriage ride, which was not a part of this tour, but just FYI, don't waste your money. Butchart Gardens is amazing!
Excellent guide. Butchart Gardens are truly beautiful.
What a wonderful day out from Vancouver. Tour guide Downey, couldn't have been more helpful or informative. He made our day. Although it was an early start it was worth it as we saw the best wildlife (orcas) from the ferry. Plenty time for a wander in Victoria although not enough for afternoon tea at the Empress. We did a little extra trip to feed the sea lions which was a highlight for many but we would rather have had the extra time to explore Victoria. The afternoon at Butchart Gardens was absolutely wonderful. They are stunning and definitely a must see if you visit Vancouver Island. The entire day was worth every penny and we would recommend it unconditionally.
Good tour, enjoyed the ease of travel, on the same bus the whole trip.. Guide was knowledgeable and friendly. There was plenty of time to explore Victoria before going to Butchart Gardens. The Gardens are of course beautiful, would maybe have liked a little more time there.
A most enjoyable day from beginning to end. Would have preferred to have an extra hour at Butchart Gardens, and an hour less in Victoria, but guess that's a personal thing. The sunset from the gerry on the way home was magnificent!
A great city very clean a lot to see, Stanley park, Chinese gardens, Victoria inc Butchart Gardens, and not forgetting Grouse Mountain and Capilano suspension bridge, in all a very enjoyable holiday, wish I had more time there.
My visit to Victoria included one night in Victoria. A lot of my fellow travellers were doing a day trip from Vancouver. I can't imagine that the day trip could do justice to this beautiful city and island. Starting with Butchart Gardens set the tone for this trip. The gardens are staggeringly beautiful. The tour around Victoria revealed a city that hasn't changed as much as Vancouver and which retains some old world charm. It was fun to watch the comings and goings of boats and float planes in the inner harbour. The atmosphere in Victoria seemed slower and less frenetic than Vancouver. The overnight stay was at the Inn at Laurel Point which also did not disappoint in any way. My return trip to Vancouver was via float plane which was in itself really amazing. Again, the local tour company provided a tour guide and driver that really enhanced the experience of this trip. This trip has it all - ferry ride through the Gulf Islands, Butchart Garden tour, Victoria tour, nice overnight and float plane back to Van. What's not to enjoy?
This was a very enjoyable tour. It was my first time in Canada and I was very happy with the service I received. Vancouver, Victoria and the Butchart Gardens were breathtakingly beautiful. The drivers were very kind, and knew their cities well. Thanks for the experience.
This was an easy way to see two outstanding sites . Alex our tour leader was very outgoing and accommodating. We had about two hours free in Victoria which allowed time to have lunch and walk around the interesting city. Butchart Gardens were beautiful and two hours on our own was just right.
This was an amazing trip. Enjoyed everything about the trip... the ferry ride, Victoria, and Butchart Gardens. The tour company and driver were fantastic. If you have any time do this tour. Amazing... oh and be sure and sit with the locals on the ferry. It makes the trip even more enjoyable. Fantastic... day....
