Romantic Things to Do in Victoria
By Viator, August 2013
Have a picnic or stroll through the gardens
Victoria is known as the “City of Gardens” with its most popular garden being the 55-acre Butchart Gardens. These beautiful gardens (along with the many other gardens and parks throughout the city) are a great place for a romantic stroll or picnic on a warm day or night. There are streams, fountains and lily ponds, rose gardens, Japanese gardens and even an indoor butterfly sanctuary. Whether you like spring flowers, fall colors or colored lights, holy berries and wreaths with a dusting of snow the Butchart Gardens are a must see and are open any time of year.
Take a Carriage tour
There are several carriage tours available in the city. One option is the Beacon Hill Park Carriage Tour, which leisurely takes you around the 200 acre park in a horse drawn carriage with a knowledgeable guide to tell everything about the park, the city and their history. To see a bit more of the city you might want to opt for the Victoria Carriage Tour Including James Bay in the evening. This tour takes you through the streets of Victoria to some surrounding neighborhoods including the James Bay area and the waterfront.
Victoria Fly n’ Dine
If you have a bit of a larger budget to spend on your loved one then you might be intrigued by the Victoria Fly n’ Dine tour where you of course fly and dine. The tour begins with a seaplane flight to the Butchart Gardens where you are then served a three course meal following dinner you will have time to explore the gardens before taking a limo ride back into the city. This tour might be as romantic as they get.
You can also never go wrong with a great meal for a little romance and Victoria has plenty of great restaurants to suit your tastes. A bit of a different dinning experience might also be to enjoy an afternoon tea like the royal high tea at the Royal Empress Hotel or in one of the many different Inns that can be found in and around the city.
