Had a fantastic day on the bike/wine tour. The bikes were easy to use, the bike tracks are excellent and the scenery was stunning. Our guide was excellent, made the trip informative, entertaining and funny. We all made friends on the trip and ended up buying wine at the second vineyard to drink by the Danube, it was a perfect day, would highly recommend!
The Danube Valley tour was excellent. The countryside was so beautiful. The boat trip was also great. The stop at the Melk Abbey was the real highlight of the tour. What a beautiful site.
Fantastic tour!
Very pleasant itinarary; beautiful hour and a half cruise on the Danube and fantastic visit of the Melk Abbey. Everyone who can spare a day from Vienna should do this tour.
We were on the daily trip to Melk in May. The trip was very well organized. The pick up from hotel easy and on time. The boat sailing was amazing and it will remain unforgettable for us. We recommend the Danube Valley Day Trip from Vienna to all people who want to have one perfect day with fantastic impressions.
Very nice day trip, and the Danube boat trip brilliant. Melk monastery out of this world. Only one small issue - if travelling with a wheelchair person, although the tour guide was great on the coach. Try and get meeting times and places before, you get off the coach - or he disappears. Also, the coaches are not wheelchair friendly. Apart from that, it's well worth doing.
The trip was fascinating and full of beautiful scenery. The cruise on the Danube was relaxing, passing by some very picturesque towns and hillside castles. The Melk Abbey was lovely and interesting. The view of the valley from its balconies is breathtaking. Its Baroque architecture is lovely. There are steep stairs to negotiate at the Abbey, so be aware of this. The restaurant on site served quickly, considering the large influx of visitors. They have a nice menu selection. The ice cream kiosk serves a less than ping pong ball sized serving for one Euro.
What a wonderful day this was.Unfortunely due to the weather we did not cruise the Danube, but the guide more than made up for it by going through Krems and other historic towns, just loved it.The Melk Abbey was a great tour, would suggest it to anyone
We booked the trip online and expecting a nice boat trip down the Danube, but on the day of the trip we were told by the bus driver that it was a bus tour! The driver even laughingly told us that it was too cold for any boat tour. Not being professional meteorologists, we'd appreciate it if the website did not mislead us by making clear that bost tours are not in season. We had rearranged our short schedule in Europe just to have this boat trip, having been on enough bus tours in Europe. We felt quite cheated.
Wonderful trip threw Danube Valley. Enjoyed walking threw the Midevil towns. The icing on the cake was touring Melk. What a beautiful place,
Despite repeated phone calls, the local company failed to pick us up. They picked up another couple instead! We were able to be re-scheduled for the next day, although it was much less convenient to us. Pick up was late. The rest of the trip is as advertised. I wish there was an option to go from Melk to Krems instead of Sptiz to Melk. The shortened tour misses a large number of views of the Danube and goes in the right direction: with the current and with the sun in the back for better photos. In Melk, the bus drops the tourists at the restaurant just in front of the abbey. This is a trap. There is much to see in the village of Melk itself.
It was a delightful day on the Danube. Interesting places were somewhat sparse and the organization of touring the abbey was not good and was quite rushed.
There was a long wait for buses to arrive and then to sort out who goes on which bus in the morning. lucky we got on an English speaking bus. We left after 10:30am. Our guide was English speaking and quite good. long drive to Spitz and then disappointing boat ride on Danube. Not what we expected, not a lot to see. Then there was a long drive back. A lot of money for not much.
The city tour is somewhat misleading the tour actually take you to the outskirt of Vienna. There is no time to admire the lovely sites that go by so fast. The tour takes you to a top of a hill where you can see the all of Vienna, there is a short chance to have some refreshments served by the most rude waiters that we have ever encountered. After the land lightning tour there is a lenghthy featureless ride on the Danube and then in the Danube canal. Maybe it would a good idea to shorten the boat ride and make more time for the outskirt of Vienna.
