Peter, our guide, met us at the beginning of the market and gave us our very own tasting spoons for the tour. We then began ambling through the market, with him describing foods, the processes involved in making them, their histories, where they come from, and how to use them in all kinds of dishes at home. His culinary background definitely shines through as he describes fabulous cooking ideas and spice combinations. We were the only 2 on the tour, so it was very personal, and Peter answered all the questions we threw at him. This tour was a delightful part of our Vienna visit and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city!
Doing what: Small-Group Food Tour of Naschmarkt in Vienna
Very happy with this tour - prompt hotel pickup, knowledgeable tour guide and good content - Thanks!
The tour a little on the expensive side, but the guide was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.. As the group was small, the guide could be, and was, flexible in allowing more time in certain places for photographs etc.
Tour is nice, dinner is good, amazing concert in the palace ball room. Amazing night. Highly recommended.
This tour was very interesting. Our guide, Barbara, was very knowledgeable about the Jewish community in Vienna. Our group consisted of German and English speaking people. Barbara was very adept at explaining in both languages.
Excellent! I had arrived that afternoon and it was a perfect way to start off my 4 day visit! The tour guide was excellent and told us in a nutshell all about Austrian history.
Doing what: Vienna Evening Walking Tour
A bit too expensive but very nice. I could not recommend it!
Andrea our guide was excellent. So enthusiastic. A little dubious at first as office not the nicest. However when she got into the tour it was brilliant. Small group as we'll.
Doing what: Vienna City Walking Tour
We were picked up from our hotel on time, taken to the tour bus (French/English-speaking tour guide) and set off for a very interesting and comprehensive tour of Vienna. The visit to Schonbrunn (with time to stroll around the Christmas market) was the highlight, and not having to queue for tickets was great. Our tour guide was well-organised, informative and clear and this tour was the ideal start to our first visit to Vienna. It orientated us, gave us a good idea of what we would like to explore further in the limited time (2.5 days) we had left and we would recommend it to anyone as a great introduction to this fascinating city with its stunning architecture and almost overwhelming choice of attractions to visit.
A gorgeous city! The best way to see all she has is the HOHO bus, a must do!
Doing what: Vienna City Hop-on Hop-off Tour
If you are visiting Vienna you must treat yourself with this package, it's simply perfect! The palace is stunning, the rooms really brings you back to the old times. I really enjoyed the flexibility of the audio guided tour. The dinner was gorgeous, traditional and delicious Austrian cuisine at it's finest, the restaurant was really superb, excellent service! And to finish in style the concert was just spectacular, highly skilled musicians, ballet dancers and opera singers, this really made my day and my trip to Vienna perfect!
This package is perfect for 1 reason, it has everything that you need. Firstly it was very convenient to get it from our hotel once we arrived. It was very easy to use and had clear instructions, all the basics you need for a stay in Vienna! The hot chocolate (swapped for the coffee) and cake experience at Cafe Central was unforgettable. The restaurant where we had our lunch was really good and centrally located, they had the best apple strudel I had tried whilst in Vienna! So convenient to use the transport as much as you want too, and the Vienna Card to entry the attractions and get some helpful discounts too which is always great. Plus the hop on hop off tour insured we got to see everything and very comfortably, highly recommended!
Interesting tour of the palace, pleasant meal, and enjoyable concert - just what we wanted!
We really enjoyed the tour of Schonbrunn, our time in the gardens and the dinner and concert. To be honest the food was pretty bland, but the restaurant was nice, service was fairly good, and it was delightful to be at Schonbrunn at dusk after the crowds had gone. We did the tour 2 days before the dinner and concert, which was the best choice, as we then had several hours to enjoy the gardens and grounds, and were able to get fresh and spruced up for our night out. The concert was fabulous - an up tempo programme of Strauss and Mozart, in a gorgeous venue, with a very lively conductor and very good orchestra. I would urge people to get into the spirit and dress up a little for the occasion - most did but there were some very odd interpretations of the "smart casual" dress code.
All up a very good choice of tour as long as you like light classical music.
We enjoyed our trip to the zoo and the Prater, however, the joint trip tickets are available at both venues and you do still need to queue to present the voucher for it to be converted in to a joint ticket.
The zoo is spacious and well laid out with plenty of options for food and drinks. There are a number of construction projects at the moment which look like they will be quite impressive once they are completed.
