3 star rating: Worth doing Review by Clive B, June 2012
Doing what:

Mount Vernon was very good, but tram ride within Arlington Cemetery was not well organised. Bus passengers ended on different trams, so arrived back to the bus at different times (spread over at least 1 hour). This then added return time to union station.

Doing what:

The morning is really for born and bred Americans as there is a lot of assumed knowledge. However, the Cemetery was excellent and worth a visit.Again there was a lot is assumed knowledge when visiting the memorials and I would have liked a little bit more information before we were told to leave the bus.

The bus driver (Cheryl) was not only an excellent driver, very knowledgeable on George Washington and the entire area around old town Alexandria, and was very entertaining. The tour was well worth the affordable price and was very enlightening and enjoyable. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to see Mount Vernon or Alexandria.

Great tour guide was very good, sorry forgot his name

Had read about how good Bob was on this tour and everything written is true. He made this day more than we could imagine. Mt Vernon is a must and Arlington also. So glad we got to do this tour and see a lot of Washington and the area.

Doing what:

Great Tour. Our bus driver/tour guide was very knowledgeable. She was very friendly and did everything she could to make this a great experience for us. It was a bit rushed at the Arlington Cemetery, but we have to remember, that we covered a lot on this trip. It was awesome and a great day.

Excellent, on time and informative.

Enter your review here. The trip was great, the bus driver was hilarious. Could have spent more time at Mt. Vernon. Main problem was getting in contact once we reached D.C. The phone number listed in the voucher is incorrect, some of the numbers were changed around. Then locating the terminal once at Union Station was quite a a challenge as we were directed in a few different paths before we got to the correct location.

Would have liked to have had more narration on the boat. Only had a smattering of sites along the way pointed out. I had expected it to have been more interesting, such as including some history of the Potomac river we were traveling on. Mount Vernon was great, though we could have gotten there on our own

Mount Vernon and Alexandria are a must do if visting the DC area, however this tour was the worst. first of all our driver didn't want to work that day and his attitude and mood showed it. then Mr. Personality informed us that we weren't going to be stopping in Alexandria beause crist church was closed to tours on Sundays. Ok Fine. So then we get to Mount Vernon and the driver tells us we have 4 hours here. Mount Vernon is a beautiful place, lots to do and see, but not 4 hours worth. We arrive at Mount Vernon around 8:45am and I was done with everything by 10:20am. I had literally about 2+hours to kill. I ended up taking the bus back to the Hunttington metrorail station and stopped at Kind St station. and did Alexandria on my own. And got backto DC on my own too. My advice to people, Mount Vernon and Alexandria and great places to visit but you can save yourself about $25 if you just do it on your own. Very easy from DC.

Excellent tour! The staff on the ship was very friendly and efficient! Everything was punctual and
Mt. Vernon is gorgeous!

The overall experience was great. Getting to Mt. Vernon by boat was a good choice because you get 2 fun things to do in one! The boat was very roomy and comfortable. The only complaint I have is that my granddaughter wanted a smoothy and it cost $6! .....a little pricey for me. But the trip was great and we had plenty of time to see what we wanted to see. Don't miss the oxen!

A real walk thru history. I would highly recommend.
