The box lunch on our Potomac River cruise was tasty. You get to select from several choices. The boat cruises up the river and the guide narrates points of interest as you float by. This was perfectly timed, as we were getting a bit pooped and feeling hungry just as we arrived at the waterfront.
Our group meeting point was just in front of the Library of Congress, in front of the fountain. I urge you to arrive early (opens at 8:30am). Make time to explore inside before the tour! There is some absolutely magnificent architecture inside you won't want to miss seeing.
I did appreciate how well kept the buildings and the grounds were. The magnolia trees were gorgeous.
A view from the boat to see the house at Mount Vernon, I don't have a great camera, so in real life the view was actually better.
