The tour guide was very accommodating and sincere in his wish that we see and know about all the memorials. We enjoyed it thoroughly.
David Cooper our driver kept us entertained throughout the journey from Union Station to Mount Vernon, with informative information about places we passed through, with a great sense of humour. He also told us the best route to follow on this tour so as not to lose the advantage of being the first group to arrive. We took his advise, he was not wrong and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. First class tour to this historic estate, loved all of it immensely despite it raining!!
We took this tour just after the 'shut-down' and on a night when there was a charity walk down Pennsylvania Avenue. The resulting road-blocks caused some problems with access but our driver and guide worked hard to ensure we saw the sights and that there was adequate time for photos.
The guide was informative and entertaining. Another plus was the bottle of water provided.
The tour is over 3 hours long and I would probably not recommend doing it after a full day of sightseeing.
Washington by night is not to be missed and this is the easiest way of visiting the many monuments.
We really enjoyed this tour. It was an early start, but it meant we beat the crowds at Mt Vernon as we arrived there at 9am. We followed our driver's advice and headed straight for the house on arrival and enjoyed a tour of the house without the accompanying crowds. We were able to wander about the grounds and visit the museum at leisure. We had a full 3 hours at Mt Vernon, but it is so interesting we could have spent longer.
The drive through Old Town Alexandria was interesting, but there was no opportunity to stop and explore (apart from the photo stop at the church on the way to Mt Vernon).
I would definitely recommend this tour. Mt Vernon is a must see when visiting Washington.
Our tour was fantastic!! Our guide,Patrick, was great. He was knowledgeable and friendly and a credit to your Company. Thank you for making our visit to Washington DC so special! The weather also helped.
Absolutely fantastic,Bullfrog tours are the best.Guide was superb and the trip well organised, great fun!
We found this tour really lovely. Went and visited all the major memorials, our guide was wonderful. He interacted with our small group and certainly knew a whole lot about Washington which he was happy to share. Arlington is a lovely place. The changing of the guard is a must see, such a special moment to witness. The day we were there, the Government Shutdown was still on, so we couldn't get close to a couple of things, but that didn't matter too much. It was a great day. Our children (12 and 10 years) even enjoyed it.
We were very lucky as our small group consisted of only four people. Caroline was a wonderful guide. She gave just the right amount of information about each stop and then left us to view each memorial and appreciate the strong atmosphere at each. The boat trip with lunch was a perfectly times break in the middle. I would strongly advise booking this tour.
Excellent tour. I recommend a one-hour visit to Alexandria in returning from Mount Vernon.
We enjoyed this tour very much. It was fast paced but we covered a lot of territory and saw a lot in our 6 hours. The tour guides were great and very informative. I feel like we saw the major highlights of DC without having to drive and mess with parking ourselves. After the tour, we walked the few blocks to the Air and Space Museum and spent a couple hours there so it was a long but good day.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of our Nation's monuments by moonlight. Our guide was extremely knowledgeabe!
We had an enjoyable time on this excursion. The weather was perfect as well. We had a small group on the tour, but it was informative and lively. The driver did a good job and Annalisa did a great job providing an overview of facts and information about various sights. A cooler of bottled water was provided to keep us all hydrated. As some of the other reviewers have mentioned, there was still a fair amount of walking on this tour and you only have a small amount of time per stop (of course you see so much it would be difficult otherwise), so be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes. One other suggestion, if you are going as we did in the summertime you might want to take some mosquito repellent. The mosquitos were sort of bad particularly near the tidal basin. I thought this was a great way to see some of the sights at night and would recommend the tour.
