Absolutely enjoyed the tour. We all thoroughly enjoyed the tour and the tour guides knowledge.
I would still highly recommend the tour to anyone who would like to see the Capitol and see the history come alive. Seeing the Capitol at night time made it a fantastic experience.
This tour was awesome! Our guide, George has an appreciation for DC. He was knowledgeable, insightful and fun. He was quick to share his inside information on his city! He allowed us to get out of the cart and look at the monuments if we wanted to. I really enjoyed that he did not rush us through anything. If am lucky enough to return to DC I would absolutely would take this tour again and I would ask for George!
Booked this tour because it seemed like it would be a fun way to see the monuments with the children. The only problem was the morning of our day trip it was freezing. I got a courtesy call from the tour guide who explained the situation and recommended we drive in a car instead. It made sense to do, however he went on to say they have sides to the vehicles that keep it toasty and they had not put them on yet. I was wondering if anyone in the company checked the weather report and at least outfitted a couple of vehicles with them in anticipation.
The car turned out to be the guide's personal car. He warned me that the narrative on the tour was geared to adults not children, so right from the start I was wondering why the website marketed themselves as family friendly. There were a few things in his dialogue that I wish were not said in the presence of 8 year olds like linking past events to current controversial political problems, but for every comment I disliked there was one that I did. I wish there was more information given about the monuments themselves rather than controversy.
The tour was very much at the pace of the tourist. We got to spend as much time as we wished at each stop. We did not get a chance to stop at the Jeff Memorial though which was disappointing. The tour was scheduled to last between 10am to 2pm, but our tour guide ended the tour at 12:30. But yet my wife and the children were glad it was over and I did not mention the abbreviation to the guide. You can draw your own conclusions from that.
I live in DC and after an exulting research process we decided on this tour for my guest. It was misty cold, which we were prepared for. However we started the tour being told it was going to be longing than the time initially set and a first stop that would last for 40 minutes. Once the tour started the tour guide did more than talk about the sites and building he gave what he thought funny/political commentary, very inappropriate.
Very disappointing and at the first stop we got off and did not continue the tour.
Excellent tour with a very keen, enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide who made the day even more memorable.
even with the goverment shutdown our guide made our trip interesting
Tour was conducted excellently. We could see all the monuments and Capitol nicely.
Due to the Government shutdown our tour was changed somewhat. Kyle did an amazing job of making sure we saw everything we could see. He told us some inside pointers that he knows and gave us tons of information to absorb. The day we were on our tour it rained 3 - 4 inches. We were all soaked but still had a remarkable time. We would love to come back to the DC area again to see all of the museums. We would definitely use your company again. The Lamprecht family from Utah.
This was an excellent tour! Seeing the various memorials at night was a magical experience. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and allowed ample time to view each of the memorials at the various stops.
Although partially affected by the government shutdown this was soon forgotten by the excellent tour guide and the organisation from Bullfrog tours. It was simply an awesome experience and would recommend as your introduction to DC.Absolutely brilliant!
The driver was great knew everything so he said(ha) there was plenty of time to see everything.
This was a good tour and the guide was great. Lucky we had this tour the day before the shut down. I did fall getting into the boat when the portable steps tipped and I twisted my ankle reguireing wearing a brace the rest of our trip.
This tour showed us all that was promised. The guide was young and inexperienced and a bit of a disappointment.
Note from Viator: Thank you for your feedback. We've received a response from the supplier concerning your review. We're copying it in full below:
Thank you for your note and for coming on tour with us. I apologize that your tour guide was not up to your expectations or ours. I have discussed your tour with your guide and made sure that they improve their performance. They definitely have over the past few weeks and we'll continue to make sure we are only providing the best guides for all our VIP groups. I'm sorry this wasn't the case on your tour and we'll do everything possible to make sure that isn't repeated. Thanks again.
Considering the Govt. shutdown, the tour was well taking. The tour guide was okay, but could have been more knowledgeable about what we were seeing. At times he seemed at a loss for words on some things we were seeing and sometimes he couldn't answer questions being asked of him. It was a pleasant surprise to see that we still got our boxed lunch and water right before we boarded the boat for our Potomac River excursion. We were also reimbursed for the parts of the tour we would not be able to see.
We traveled cross country via motor home from California and had planned this trip for more than a year. It was disgusting to see the trash cans overflowing at the memorials and see the water fountains at the memorials all turned off. I was appalled that the lawns at Arlington Cemetery all dry. Don't they water the lawns? We encountered a few rude people in D.C. who seemed "put out" if we asked questions. It's a shame this Administration can't get it's act together and start working for and helping ALL the people.
Thank you Viator for your tour, for doing your best in spite of the shutdown. I'm sorry you have turned into my sounding board; it feels good to get that off my chest.
One of the reasons we booked this tour was because the advertisement said it went to the Pentagon and Arlington Cemetery. Low and behold - they don't go there (anymore? ever??) Then the Monuments by Night tour goes to the SAME places as the day tour. The guides were knowledgeable and informative but we got almost the same info twice. The boat trip was a dud, and the $11.00 sandwiches weren't very impressive either.
