Doing what: The Lord of the Rings and Palliser Bay Tour from Wellington

Perfect day. Our guide Brian was excellent, very knowledgable and definitely went the extra mile. We could not fault anything. The forest trip and seeing the seals at Cape Palliser was a real hi light. Brian's driving was very safe and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed his company. Ross and Julia Walker and Ross and Maxine Houltham.

Doing what: Wellington's Lord of the Rings Half Day Tour

We were greeted by very friendly guide named Mike, although it was a rainy morning his enthusiam for the subject of the Lord of the rings tour was great. Being in a small group was also good, as at each site visited we could gather around Mike as he showed us vision on his ipad of the location as it was in the movie. There was also no other crowds at any of the locations. We enjoyed the morning tea supplied and fresh muffins. I would recommend this tour to anyone else visiting Wellington, as you got to see some lovely parks and a trip to the top of wellington's lookout, great views.

It's great that you not only get to see the lord of the rings locations but also a lot of Wellington itself. We had a great guide who knew everything there is to know about the movies and was very passionate about them. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and have nothing to complain about. I furthermore would highly recommend this tour to anyone going to Wellington. It's definitely worth the money.

Excellent tour especially for the film "geek". The tour guide was excellent and entertained us the whole way. We stopped at so many filming locations plus Weta Cave.

Doing what: Wellington's Lord of the Rings Locations Tour including Lunch

The tour was great! The host was very informative and seemed to live and breathe Lord of the Rings!

The description of the tour on the website wasn't entirely accurate and could do with some updating. Eg, include 'visit to WETA cave', Orc sized picnic lunch at Rivendell was lunch in a local café, remove information about stopping at the Chocolate Fish Café.
Good fun!

Doing what: Middle Earth Filming Location Lord of The Rings Trilogy Tours

Our guide had an excellent knowledge of the LOTR movies and his behind the scenes stories were really interesting. Having the photos and film clips on the ipod really showed the locations. The 4 hours went so fast and the muffin for morning tea was a lovely surprise. Well worth going if you are a fan of the movies.

Doing what: Wellington's Lord of the Rings Half Day Tour

If you're the type of person who gets excited by the thought of Elijah having stood the same ground as you, you may enjoy this tour. You're shown pics of LOTR scenes, and asked you to use your imagination. Save your money - visit the Weta Workshop and Rivendell on your own dime, and Hobbiton up north.
