Tours and sightseeing to Victoria Falls
Victoria Falls
The Victoria Falls straddle the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia, and is easily accessible from both countries - as well as from Namibia and Botswana.
Victoria Falls is 1.7-km wide (versus Niagara Falls at 1km) and 108m high (poor Niagara, it's 58m high), with an annual average flow of one million liters per second. At the peak (March to May) the flow can be nine times higher, while in the dry season (September to December) the volume of water is often only 5% of the peak. Not surprisingly, the falls are regarded as one of the seven natural wonders of the world.

Suggested Itineraries: Victoria Falls
When David Livingstone first saw the Victoria Falls in 1855 he wrote in his journal "on sights as beautiful as this, angels in their flight must have gazed." He named the falls after the queen of England, but they were (and still are) known as Mosi-oa-Tunya in the Kololo language and Chinotimba by the Nambya people. Both local terms are loosely translated as "the smoke that thunders". In fact, on a clear day the spray can be seen from 50km away.
