Swiss chocolate is as famous as mountains, clocks or Heidi. And so it should be - it's smooth and delicious, especially that made by Sprungli and Lindt. It's worth traveling to see it being made - especially with a free sample thrown in. There is also a free museum but like any artist, these "chocolatiers" can be erratic with their opening hours so check before heading there.
If you can't make it to the factory itself, head for the Sprungli cafe at Bahnhofstrasse 21, the heart of Switzerland's sweet tooth since 1836, or around the corner to the chocolate shop Confiserie Sprungli on Paradeplatz. For the full range of chocolate experience, visit all three.

Doing what: Switzerland Mountains, Cheese and Chocolates Tour from Zurich
The tour was fantastic and the tour guide did a superb job on giving us loads of information about Switzerland. The Appenzel tour was fantastic. Kids enjoyed this trip very much and the chocolates at the Lindt outlet was very cheap.
Practical Info
The factory is located in Enge, just south of Zurich's centre. Catch S-bahn train 1 or 8 to Kilchberg, or bus 163 to Schooren.
