Wow, not only a spectacular place to be, the guide was awesome. The whole day was put together incredibly well, we didn't have as much time as I would have liked in Gridlewald but that was due to the marathon. Once we got to the top, the ice palace and the plateau was just incredible and must be seen to be appreciated. I want to talk about the tour guide, Kid. He has a wicked sense of humour and made the day. I have an incredible amount of respect for some who can organise 76 people on one of the busiest days of the season. He ensured that everyone was on time and no one got lost. He takes photos (excellent ones too) of you and ensures you see the best photo opportunities. I heard a few negative comments about him, but I would have to say you try and accomplish what he has done and then make comment. Kid also tells you to do certain things and to absolutely not do some things without explanation - given that he does this five days a week and for the last ten years, just do what he says, there is a good reason he just sometimes doesn't have the time to explain. It was my husbands 40 birthday and I asked Kid if there was something he could suggest at the top. Just prior to us heading back down the mountain he arranged a slice of cake, sparklers and for the whole group to sing Happy Birthday. He seems to enjoy what he does and more importantly making sure that you have the best opportunity to see as much as you can. An amazing guide, thank you Kid. One more tip his days off at present are Monday and Tuesday.
