Really enjoyed the day! Was in a small minibus, so by the end of day we all knew each other. The scenery in this area is picture-perfect and Appenzell is a beautiful town with great character. Enjoyed the free samples of chocolate and cheese! Andy our guide was a really nice man too!
GOOD DRIVER/TOUR GUIDE COVERED A LOT OF INFO IN A VERY PLEASANT MANNER
The tour was good. The guide was very respectful and gentle. They care a lot about tourists.
The only thing that I did not like was the fact that we were not taken to a chocolate factory. But it was described in the highlights of the tour anyway.
I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to buy chocolates and cheese.
This was a disappointing tour. The drive through the country was good but there were no stops on the way to take in the sights or click pictures with the cows. The cheese factory visit was nice however, the idea of spending nearly 4 hours at Appenzeller while the other part of the tour went to the mountains, was not appealing and we preferred to return to Zurich by train via Gossau.
Great, small bus and group was ideal. We had an excellent, knowledgeable driver/guide. Well worth it.
The trip was really enjoyable and we had a very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide.
At all started with the lindt shop visit, to the cheese factory from where we bought three different types of cheeses,to the breathtaking view from the top of the mountain.
I recommend this trip, it's suitable for kids as well.
"You see three main highlights of switzerland over one day"
This was a beautiful tour of Switzerland - small group, quick tour to the Lindt factory to stock up on Chocolate - although would have loved an extra 15 minutes, cheese tasting at Appenzell (viedo could have been shorted!)and then the cable car up to the top of the moutain where you got to see 3 other countries! The Guide was great and overall a lovely tour.
The country side was beautiful. Again we were left behind for 3 hours without a guide. Mr. Congrats was amazing and made our day.
Great trip. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this adventure.
I think this was our favorite tour!! We had a wonderful tour guide
and would put this on your not to be missed list!! This was a full
day tour that included stops at the Lindt Chocolate Store, Cheese factory,
Cable car tour on pre-alps and another Swiss town stop.

Great tour with a very informed guide. Saw a lot of the countryside and the stops at the Lindt and Appendell stores were very interesting.
Our guide and driver was henry he was at is best and he kept us alive with is jokes and humor.
Our tour guide Ernest was a lovely man, he drove whilst providing interesting facts about the country and the towns we would visit. The Lindt factory was my favourite stop, we purchased collectively about 5kgs of chocolate! The cheese tour was rather short and unexpected, there was only a small viewing section showing how the fat from the cheese is taken out. There is a large time gap provided towards the end of the tour which we felt was rather unnecessary for you to explore the town. I guess if the weather had been sunny it would have been nice to take a walk around the quaint little streets, however it was pouring rain so we ended up hiding in a patisserie shop for an hour or so until we could go back onto the bus.
Well where do I begin,
Let's start with the good, the chocolate outlet has lots of stuff you can't get in Australia. We bought 3 kg of chocolate and the price was way cheaper than we could imagine.
The view on top of the mountains is just amazing. Really made the trip worth the drive.
The bad, the cheese factory tour isn't so good, 30 minutes is all you get. 15 minutes of which is a video promoting the cheese company, talking about how much care and manual labour they put into making the cheese and other promotional things. Only to see after the video that every single step is automated. This leaves very little time to taste the cheese samples and buy.
Unfortunately our tour guide wasn't the greatest, nothing of great interest was spoken about which made the driving sections of the tour seem longer than they are. Would really have helped if more interesting information was given.
For example, I could have done without the explanation on how grass grows and is then chopped by farmers. Or the 5 minute conversation on how power in Switzerland is transmitted through power lines to each home. This may be okay for a bus load of 5 years olds but more interlectual/witty information is required at the very least for adults. A bit more thought and preparation by the tour guide on what to say during the driving sections would improve this tour.
