, an innovator in mobile and app-based travel guides, has selected Viator
, Inc., the leading resource for more than 9,000 tours and activities in 800-plus destinations in more than 150 countries, as its preferred partner to provide mobile access to tours and activities through its collection of free, interactive travel guides. Viator's mobile platform will provide Triposo's iPad, iPhone and Android users with the ability to research and book the best things to do in their destinations, all at the best prices.
Triposo offers the Triposo Travel Guide to the World for iPhone, iPad and Android, and has nearly 60 individual country and city guides for each of the devices as well. The company creates its mobile travel guides by 'mixing and mashing' content from such resources as Wikitravel, Wikipedia, World66 and Openstreetmap. Travelers who download any of Triposo's guides will have direct access to Viator's worldwide selection of pre-screened destination experiences through a "tours and activities" tab within each of the apps. Through the seamless Viator white label integration, Triposo's users will be able to quickly research and easily book everything from behind the scenes, after hours tour of the Vatican to skip the line access at the Louvre, or skydiving in Las Vegas to a rock 'n roll walking tour of New York.
"Our goal is to provide travelers with content that is useful and relevant to them, everything they might need in the destination they are traveling to including the best nightlife, top attractions and pointers on safety and local lingos," said Richard Osinga, CEO of Triposo, Inc. "Adding the ability to not only research the best tours and activities in the destinations we cover but also the ability to seamlessly book them is a huge benefit to our users."
"Whether the Triposo app user is planning their trip in advance or they're already in their destination, the Viator integration will enable them to find out what activities and attractions are available, how much it will cost and book it with just a few thumb taps, even at the last minute," said Ken Frohling, vice president of business development for Viator. "We built our new mobile platform to enable our partners to offer their customers unprecedented access to the best things to do around the world via their mobile devices - a growing trend among travelers and a must-have strategy for all travel companies in 2012."
