Viator.com Enables Travelers to Earn Miles on American Airlines and Delta While Booking Vacation Activities Worldwide
Wednesday, March 30, 2005
San Francisco, CA - March 30, 2005 -- Savvy travelers worldwide can now earn miles on American Airlines AAdvantage and Delta SkyMiles by booking their vacation activities in advance on Viator.com, the first site of its kind to provide a mileage program.
"With over 4,000 activities in 46 countries worldwide, we offer our customers a great range of sightseeing, tours, attractions and theme parks. Now we also deliver a great reason to book in advance: earn miles in the American or Delta mileage program," said Viator CEO Rod Cuthbert.
Miles can be earned on all purchases made on Viator.com, one mile for every U.S. dollar spent on the site, including gift certificates for travelers and honeymooners. Popular Viator.com purchases include theater tickets, sporting events, whale watching, walking tours, wine tasting, theme parks, museum tours and even mundane (but must-have) items like airport parking and shuttle transfers to and from airports and hotels.
Miles program members who live outside the United States can complete their bookings in U.S. currency to earn miles as well. All miles earned on Viator.com are credited to member accounts within 10 days of travel.
There are currently over 48 million members in American Airline's AAdvantage program, and over 35 million in Delta's SkyMiles. Viator.com plans to offer additional airline mileage programs in the next 90 days.
Viator, founded in 1995, has hand-picked and screened each of the thousands of tours and attractions featured on their site. It is headquartered in San Francisco, CA with offices in Sydney, Australia and London, England.
