This was a very good tour which provided exactly what it said it would. The guide was excellent. She explained everything well in an interesting way without overloading us with information. We would have preferred to have extra time to wander the gardens by ourselves but did not have the confidence to let the car go and use public transport later.

An excellent tour with a first class guide. She explained everything well in an interesting way without overloading us with information. We chose the option that ends up with a 2 hour guided tour of The Hermitage after which you are free. So we were able to have a light lunch in their cafe and spend the rest of the day in the museum looking at things we found most interesting, returning to our hotel by trolley bus. We could easily have spent another full day in The Hermitage but had no more time.

This service is well worthwhile if you speak no Russian, have lots of luggage and don't know your way around. We were met off the train and delivered to our hotel quickly and smoothly. Bear in mind that this is a standard charge for any hotel in the city. Since our hotel was close to the station, our return trip, in a taxi organized by the hotel, cost one third as much. You would probably not be able to get this rate yourself at the station, though. So good value in the circumstances.
