Lake Como Day Trip from Milan

My Review: This day trip to the stunningly beautiful Lake Como was easily the highlight of our 4 days in Milan. Using the location details provided we easily found the meeting place via Metro & enjoyed a coffee at the cafe next door before boarding the coach. We departed at 9:10 & it only took around an hour to Como where our guide obtained the boat tickets. The weather was perfect for the extensive tour of the lake - stunning views of villas, hotels, gardens, churches & distant mountain peaks. We loved Bellagio & really enjoyed lunch at a little restaurant on the left about a third of the way up the steep little street above the meeting point. It's so characterful & photogenic; very hilly with glimpses of the lake through narrow little alleyways from the streets higher up; lots of flowers & some lovely, classy shops. We crossed the lake by ferry back to the coach & enjoyed the roadside views back to Como where there was more free time. Personally I would have preferred more time in Bellagio as Como was no-where near as memorable. Demand for the trip that day was such that we were in a double decker bus & there were a number of Italians amongst us so the guide repeated in Italian everything that she'd explained in English so don't assume English only! I had a few problems with my radio battery which cut out from time to time but that really was the only problem. Very happy to recommend the day. We were back in Milan by 18:45, keen to return to Lake Como for a holiday & with a good view of which lakeside resort, & which hotel, we'd prefer to stay. FABULOUS! Thank you.
