My Recommendation Tip

Definitely have a look at A La Carte rental apartments if you're staying for more than a couple of days. We stayed at one of their rental residences, and loved it, feeling more like a local than staying at a hotel. Prices range from moderate to luxe. The advantages: immersing yourself in central Paris where all the monuments are, walking distance to everything, plus tips from A La Carte on how to make your stay better, great apartments and great people to deal with. They get my vote! We plan to stay with A La Carte again on our next trip.

BTW the rental apartments vary by area, we stayed in the Marais last year which is quite a trendy area with lots of shopping as well and within a 10 min walk of the Louvre. Next time we plan to stay in the Latin Quarter (the Left Bank). Once you've seen Paris, you can't get it out of your blood. (IMO - Two West Coast Canadians).

Montmartre and Sacre Coeur Walking Tour in Paris

My Review
This is an excellent way to see part of Montmartre, and the pace is one suitable for adults. Our informative and friendly English speaking guide was excellent. As the path is mainly uphill on our way to see artists' studios, windmills, and Sacre Coeur, our guide stopped at various points to add his insights and stories about each place. After reaching the the church, the tour ends allowing visitors to go into the church, or wind their way back down to the main streets. The tour guide was able to direct us back to the starting point. Good value and a great guide.

Versailles and Giverny Day Trip

My Review
Excellent value for the cost. Giverny and Monet's Flower Garden and Water Garden was a photographer's delight. We have so many great pix taken there. The luncheon at the Moulin de Fourge was very nice and offered a break in the bus trip. Versailles was crowded but our tour guide (Sept 28/10) - the blonde one - helped make the trip enjoyable. She was full of facts and information and kept her group together. Bravo also to one of your receptionists in the office on Sept 27th who helped get us on that trip. We had missed the original booking date due to illness, but she rebooked us for the Tuesday trip. She was indeed a lifesaver and a credit to your team. We would definitely book with you again. Your service was great! Thanks - from two west coast Canadians.

Eiffel Tower, Seine River Cruise and Paris Illuminations Night Tour

My Review
This is a great combo if you don't want to dress up - no dinner in this one. We preferred to eat at a bistro and then do the tour. The Eiffel tower stop was enough time for us to get up to the main level, take pix from every angle, and shop in the gift shop. The Seine River cruise was nice, but unless you can get outside of the covered sightseeing boats, it's difficult to photograph the scenes. The pick-up bus was a little late coming to pick us up, but it did deliver us back to our starting point. Good value and introduction to some of the main tourist sites.

Paris City Hop-on Hop-off Tour

My Review
This is great for first timers and for getting to some of the areas like Montmartre and the Arc de Triomphe. Also liked the fact that you can purchase the tickets on the bus. The map was very useful and we ended up buying a couple of the two day passes rather than figure out the Metro. We walked nearly everywhere and we're in our 60's. For the rest, we used the Hop On Hop Off bus. Thanks.

My Review
We purchased two of these passes and were only able to go to about half of the places. It is useful for the museums, and for quick access to the Arc de Triomphe and other sites but it was difficult for us to get to the Hard Rock Cafe where the pass had to be retrieved. Why doesn't the Hop On-Hop Off bus go to this location?? Either this pass needs to be more flexible as to usage as most people need a break in getting around to the sites. But the passes have to be used within a given time period. This didn't work too well for us.

My Review
We couldn't initially locate the Paris Visions Office - needed a more detailed map of location. So we didn't use this at all. We found all the main things we wanted to see, so not sure how useful this would have been. Also didn't want to be part of a group of 50, too many people. May be useful to some travellers.
