Phuket to Phi Phi Islands By Express Ferry including Lunch
Phuket, Thailand
My Rating

Firstly you're picked up from your hotel pretty early (we were picked up at 7.15am and were the last ones in the car) which wasn't a massive problem because actually it was well worth it. The islands are incredible, we then went and did some snorkeling which was one of the best things of our two weeks there - get yourself an underwater camera because you will get some amazing photos. You then get lunch which is nice, and then a couple of hours to relax on the beach - highly recommended trip

Canoe Cave Explorer Phang Nga Bay Tour from Phuket

My Rating

Pretty amazing. Again the views are incredible and you'll be told a fair few times this is the James Bond island. On the canoeing you get your own person to canoe you around which is really nice and takes away the stress of worrying about where to go and pains in your shoulders! The caves are amazing and we even got to see a walking fish at one point. Our canoe person was excellent but irritatingly I can't remember his name (he was number 12). You get the opportunity to go for a swim and also buy a DVD. The DVD is expensive at 1500 Baht (£30) and if you think you might want this at the end to tell the guy up front to ensure you make regular enough appearances. The photos on the disc do not include any shots of the people of the day which I would have liked to have known before I bought the DVD, but there you go. Overall definitely recommend this

Phuket Introduction City Sightseeing Tour

Excellent tour with a really good tour guide. You do get taken to some shops but actually don't be put off by that - we had been to Bangkok and Chiang Mai before this and the pressure to buy was intense but here there really was none at all. The tourist shop they take you to is actually really good as no one is hassling you and it was really cheap compared to some of the stuff we had unfortunately bought at the night markets in Chiang Mai.
The temple they take you to is pretty good, but we'd already seen a few by that point so it'll have lost it's shine a bit because of that. Worthwhile tour.

Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp Memorial Walking Tour

This tour was excellent. Finn was our guide and he took us around the main areas, explained what happened with appropriate tact and really gave us a good insight in to what happened. It's not a pleasant sightseeing tour but if you're looking at this review I wouldn't expect you to be thinking that, but it does make you think about what went on.

Excellent tour. Arja was really good and brought history alive for us on the tour. There's not many buildings left that Hitler used, but she had photos to recreate the experience. I'm not much of a history buff but my friend knew a lot about WWII and he learn quite a bit on this tour as well. Excellent stuff.

Panoramic Rome by Night Tour and Dinner in Trastevere
Rome, Italy
My Rating

The cost of the tour is extremely expensive for what you get. Essentially you are driven around looking at the sights, which sounds good but in reality it's not a particularly good experience. The food was a choice of two dishes according to the tour information, this being Italy you might expect pasta and pizza. It was pasta but no pizza and unfortunately I don't like pasta, I asked to change it and was told no with no actual explanation of why. Dinner involves going to a busy restaurant where you and your fellow travellers all eat together which is not advertised. You get dropped off fairly late (about 12am) so worth bearing that in mind. Overall a very expensive experience which unfortunately don't live up to it's grand name.

Skip the Line: Ancient Rome and Colosseum Half-Day Walking Tour
Rome, Italy

Angelo was our tour guide and he was excellent. The tour was brilliant and the colosseum, along with the palantine hill and forum were brought to life really well. Angelo had a lot of passion for his subject and I could understand him perfectly. My only slight criticism, and I'm not sure if this is the tour company or viator, is that the meeting point could have been a little clearer. You have to go out of a certain exit when you get to the metro station, then it's on the left as you come out, but this wasn't said and I had to make a call to find the meeting point - but this is not reflection on Angelo or the quality of the actual tour.

Skip the Line: Vatican Museums Walking Tour including Sistine Chapel, Raphael's Rooms and St Peter's
Rome, Italy

This was our first tour when we arrived in Rome and it was simply fantastic. Tiffany was our tour guide and she was brilliant, very knowledgable, clearly cared a lot about the subject and really brought the tour to life. It's not an expensive tour and I couldn't recommend it highly enough. I knew a bit about the Vatican, the Sistine Chapel but nothing about Raphael's Rooms - she went in to a lot of detail and this was my favourite tour when I was in Rome. Couldn't recommend highly enough.
