Istanbul in One Day Sightseeing Tour: Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar

My Review: Due to irregular collection times from my hotel and an irrate driver, this trip was orginally cut short and I had not been taken to see the Blue Mosque although had to actually work this out for myself. Also had booked a vegetarian lunch six weeks in advance and found that no proper booking had been made in advance with the restaurant. The particular guide seemed more concerned about seeing to his own lunch rather than those of guests. The morning tour had to be repeated to include the Blue Mosque and the new guide was informative, attentative and excellent.

Istanbul by Night: Turkish Dinner and Show

My Review: This event was undertaken with ITS through Neon Tours. The show itself was excellent and there were some fabulous belly dancers with other more traditional turkish dancers. However, once again, despite booking a vegetarian meal six-weeks in advance and giving several reminders, no provision whatsover had been made by the company to ensure this was honoured. Also, I had been collected before the show had actually finished.

My Review: Very good tour company and very friendly guides. However, the restaurant waiter was very rude and unhelpful when I advised him that I was vegetarian. He simply removed the fish from my salad in front of me and handed back the plate of salad to me. Showed a complete lack of sensitivity to people who are vegetarian for religious reasons. Ruined what was otherwise a very good trip. I would not recommend using the same restaurant again even though it is an "upmarket" restaurant in the city centre as the waiting staff are unhelpful.
