Behind-the-Scenes Eiffel Tower Tour Including Champ de Mars’ Underground Bunker

Paris, France

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

What a great experience! After many years of coming to Paris and La Tour Eiffel to hear the history and background from our very knowledgeable guide. The underground bunker history was fascinating and then to see the workings of the Engine Room for the Eiffel was very neat. We then went to level 2 of the Eiffel and then up a short set of stairs to arrive on top of the Jules Verne Restaurant for amazing views of Paris made even better by the lack of mesh to impede our views like the main viewing areas of the Eiffel. Sadly it was a very overcast brisk day so view was hazy, but from that level you are on your own to go onward and upward to level 3.

Paris Shuttle Arrival Transfer: Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG)

Paris, France

My Rating

My Review

Good value. Downside is that you must call upon arrival and then there is confusion about where you will be picked up. Easier for me since I've been to CDG numerous times, but my shuttle mates had a hard time finding the shuttle.

Treasures of the Opera Garnier Tour in Paris

Paris, France

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

Very good informative tour by very good guide. Only negative would be the size of the group which seemed to dwindle as we went along. Wonderful to hear the history and see the glory of this magnificent building.

Barcelona Hop-on Hop Off Tour: East to West Route

Barcelona, Spain

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

One can cover much of Barcelona while listening to informative facts about the city. You can get on the East-West, then the North-South or Red then Green to get a true feel for all of Barcelona. I recommend doing a full loop, with stops, about 2 hours then begin to get on and off to see things you don't want to miss.

Montserrat Half-Day Small-Group Tour with Optional Cable Car Ride and Skip-the-Line Ticket to La Sagrada Familia

Barcelona, Spain

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

Fracesco was my guide and there were only the 2 of us. During the drive to Montserrat, he gave me lots of the ancient and current history of Barcelona and Catalunya. The approach to Montserrat was breathtaking and I now see why one really needs a full day to truly enjoy and appreciate it. The weather was a bit too cold and windy for me to do the walks or enjoy the tram to the top plus there wasn't enough time. We went down the opposite side of Montserrat and stopped at a charming little church from the 1400's. As we approached Barcelona and La Sagrada Familia he gave me more history and made sure I knew where to go to enter, etc. Like another reviewer, I was confused that we went to Montserrat first, then to La Sagrada, without any explanation. I found my way back to my hotel, which ironically is just a few blocks from the Explore Catalunya office.

Tapas Evening Walking Tour of Barcelona

Barcelona, Spain

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

We met Sonia, our guide @ Balmes 12 and began our tapas journey w/Iberian ham, sausage, etc. Diverse group made it even more fun, 2 Australians, 2 S. Africans and 3 from the States. We headed onward via back streets, so we got the true color of the city to another Pixo bar where we choose our own tapas, made a stop @ the Boqueria Market to see all the fresh produce, meats, etc. available, then ended up in the Bari Gothic where plates of hot tapas were served. We had choice of wine, beer, soft drinks, etc. at each stop. Sonia was peppered with questions, but kept us entertained.
