Maybe the tour would have been good - if it was as described on the Viator website. The synopsis lead me to believe that the tour included Trevi Fountain, dinner then a coach tour of the monuments (Colosseum, vatican, etc, etc) lit up at night. WRONG!! This is what we suffered through:
Pickup at the hotel and sit and wait, wait, wait at a transfer point for no shows. We finally get to Trevi Fountain and it was downhill from there. After Trevi we walked all over, seeing nothing WHy couldn't we walk the 3 blocks back to the bus where it let us off rather than halfway across Rome! Then we went to another square and walked and walked some more. And then another! It's getting later, and later and still no dinner. Thank God for Gelato carts on every corner. Finally, at almost 11pm we are told we get to eat. Yes, they eat late in Italy by 11 at night?????? Of course, we have to walk forever to get there.
I'm sorry but there is no way on gods green earth that I would EVER have signed up for a night walking tour after walking all day. By this time we were hungry, tired and sweating like pigs. The restaurant was in a crowded area frequented by the 20 something crowd. Average age of our group - about 45. It may be a fun area if you are there to party but we just wanted dinner. And, the food wasn't even good.
